About this restaurant

  • Vegan-friendly
  • Charming
  • Vegetarian-friendly
Coco is designed beautifully with indoor and outdoor spaces to offer you a fun and delightful dining experience.

We have been workshopping our new plant-based dishes for months now, creating nearly everything in-house, from scratch - and we are absolutely thrilled with all of our new dishes. And, of course, our full wine, beer and cocktail menu complements our foods wonderfully.

Just some of our "Best Of Chapel Hill" 100% plant-based options include: Southern Fried Chicken & Waffles, Peach & Avocado Bruschetta, Red Cream Paneer Curry, Penne Alfredo with Wild Mushrooms, Coco Signature Impossible Burgers with sauteed mushrooms, crispy shallots on our housemade brioche bun, Pesto Linguine, Caesar Quinoa Salad, Baby Bellas & Rosemary on Truffle-Buttered Toasts, Strawberry Cheesecake-Stuffed Cookies, Peach Cobbler A La Mode and Rosewater Malabi Custard. (most items are available gluten-free).

We hope to see you for dinner soon!

Reservation was at 11:45 and we were seated immediately. Unfortunately unsure if they were staffed for the crowd on Mother’s Day. We left at 2 and hadn’t been given everything included in our Mother’s Day brunch package. We couldn’t wait any longer. It took a while for service to check in on us. We were seated by the bathrooms and it took several people asking them to restock toilet paper for it to happen. Everyone was kind and when we told them we were leaving before desert came out, they did give us pastries for the inconvenience.

I love the food at this place. I love that. We have a great vegan spot here in Chapel Hill. I also hate writing a bad review about a great place , but the Mother’s Day brunch was an absolute disaster. I get being in weeds but this was far beyond that. We sat down at 11:30 and a server didn’t come to the table until after 12 and we went ahead and put our full order in at that time. 1 main dish came out at 1pm, then another around 1:45. The other two people sat there for another 30 mins waiting on 2 waffles. By the time the whole table had gotten their food, my dish was cold and had been sitting in front of me over an hour. Finally ordered the desert to go because we had been there 3 hours. (Which were just tarts). 30-40 mins later, we had to ask the manager & servers 3 times if they were even coming out. I think their menu was too big for the event. Most places that do a pre fixe menu offer only 3 or 4 options for mains, they had like 12 options for mains. Again, I hate having to say anything bad about this place, but that totally made Mother’s Day brunch a big bummer.

My wife and I went here for the first time for Valentine’s Day and it was better than I had imagined. The environment was warm and inviting and cozy but also elegant. Food was AMAZING. Service was also amazing, all the staff was friendly and personable. Can’t say enough good things I’m so happy my wife found this place! Will be back many many times for sure :)

If you have taste , do not go here. The chicken was floppy, the bao buns were nasty, the salad was good, and the lava cake was disappointing disgusting. The cheese cake was not good as well. But the service was amazing thanks to our server!!

Friday night dinner was huge disappointment: ordered wine not available; Alfredo pasta “out of Alfredo”(!!); had to call wait staff for service; only 2 other couples dining. Conclusion: DO NOT GO TO COCO FOR DINNER.

My wife and I had been wanting to try dinner at Coco Bistro & Bar for over six months, and we finally had the chance to do so. The food was absolutely delicious, and neither of us are vegan. We are looking forward to going back again!

Coco’s Friday night dinner was a delicious and wonderful experience! From appetizers all the way to dessert, each dish had a burst of flavor that left you wanting more. It was a pleasant experience and is the perfect setting for a romantic dinner, dinner with friends, or even a business meeting. Can’t wait for to go again!

Some of the best plant based we’ve had period. Truly an enjoyable meal, everything tasted great, the apple turnover is a must try and the poached “eggs” are just wild. The kitchen was behind though and we had to move our schedule around to accommodate, we’re hoping that was a one off due to Mother’s Day.

Coco is by far my favorite restaurant. The food is 100 plant-based, so my options are wide open. The menus are well planned to accommodate an array of tastes but small enough to know that the chefs putting thought into the best way to please a variety of palates. The drink options are also amazing. I like that they have some alcohol-free options for folks who want to get fancy with a yummy cocktail. The service is consistently friendly, and the atmosphere is perfect. Oh, and they support one of our favorite local animal rescues - Beautiful Together. How cool it that? I could not recommend this spot more.
