   Excellent food and really good service. The heating was not functioning at first so I suggest they need extra heating appliances! Would definitely go again.

   Colombo Kitchen Worcester Park has been our favourite Sri Lankan Restaurant in the UK ever since it opened. When we heard about a new branch in Putney that is accessible by tube and closer to Central London - we were very excited and told all our friends who live and work in the city about it. This was our first trip to the new branch and we were not disappointed! We grew up in Sri Lanka (and visit family back home regularly) and Chef Sylvia and team have absolutely nailed the flavour profile and menu for authenticity and excitement. A great mix of traditional and modern dishes straight from the top restaurants you'd find in Colombo, Kandy, Jaffna, or Galle. Fantastic cuisine from Sinhalese, Tamil, Dutch-Burgher, and Muslim populations of the island as well as exciting new ideas make it into the menu. The arrack, gin, and vodka based cocktails are excellent and for any of you who have visited Sri Lanka - Lion Lager will be a familiar option! Personal recommendations: mutton/jackfruit rolls & and fish cutlets for starters. Lampraise, Kotthu, or Hoppers for mains. "Black Pork Curry" is uniquely Sri Lankan and they execute it perfectly. Well done team Colombo Kitchen for a triumphant second branch! We cannot wait to visit again.

   Despite a reservation, staff seemed surprised at our arrival and constructed a table in the entrance corridor. We waited over 30 mins for a drink and an hour for some water. Several people came to take our order at various stages even while we were eating starters! A waitress asked us for our menus (place mats) half way through eating. The tables were sticky, varnished yesterday apparently! We had to constantly get up to ask for things as waving was not working. We were told that they had a lot more bookings than usual. If these were reservations and they knew how many covers then why was the staffing so inadequate? On a positive note, the main restaurant area looked lovely although we only glimpsed it from our table. Cocktails were lovely, once they arrived and the food was delicious although expensive at £17+ for a relatively small plate. We wouldn’t have minded that if the overall experience had been enjoyable but we left very disappointed.

   I enjoyed my meal at Colombo. They were very friendly and attentive and looked after us beautifully. Very reasonable price on wine(by the bottle) The food was fresh and very tasty.

    This is such a lovely place. The food is beautiful and incredible. The service is well meaning, the crew are very friendly, but sometimes the grasp of English was frustratingly lacking and the service is very very very slow . So much so once we managed to get a server we ordered a line up of drinks etc. All that said, we thought it was just teething problems and would definitely go back and wouldn’t hesitate to thoroughly recommend this place. Go, go with patience in your heart and a hunger in your tummy. The latter will be beautifully satiated.
