Left very disappointed! After having one of the best roast dinners I’ve ever had perviously, I thought I would book to go back for Mother’s Day, well that was a mistake. The roast came out plated with minimal veg where by previously seasonal veg / Potatoes and Cauliflower on the side, when I asked where the cauliflower cheese perviously the waitress said they had none, and the Yorkshire pudding was made by Aunt Bessie all the same size, Beef was over done and the whole meal cold. The picture online needs updating to reflect these changes. Don’t think I need to say anymore.

The Mothers Day menu was very limited with three meat mains and only roasted cauliflower as a veggie option. The veggie starters were a cauliflower soup{!!!!} and a vert disappointing tomato and mozarella plate, All the food was totally overcooked and the cauliflower was burnt and inedible. We sent the food back, paid for the drinks and left. The staff were very apologetic. They agreed that the menu was very poor, that the food was substandard, and said that there was only one "chef" on duty. Very disappointing and will not be returning.

We were greeted well and led to a deserted restaurant. Our drinks order was taken but unfortunately spilt over us and the floor on delivery. Blackcurrant drink I can assure you from personal experience is very sticky! The waitress was very concerned about herself having been splashed took time out to wipe herself off. We suffered the dinner period and evening with the contamination. The starters were served and were ok but nothing special. I had simple fish and chips which was not inedible and by what remained on the other plates it was obvious that the food offered was not enjoyed. The battered fish was dried right out and the batter fried to be almost black. We were asked by the waitress if every thing was ok with the meals and I explained the issues. We got a timid apology, but no follow up by a senior or mature member of staff. We would certainly not recommend this restaurant to anyone. No senior management being available, we paid the bill in full but stated the payment was under protest. A complete shambles!

Very restricted menu for Valentine’s Day and even then not all items were available on it. Unable to do cocktails off the set menu. Poor service and attention especially considering how quiet it was.

A very enjoyable long, lazy lunch. The food was excellent. The menu isn’t huge but that suits me fine, it means some thought has been given to the food which can be carefully prepared and cooked. The staff were very helpful, the service quite slow but that was fine, my niece and I had a lot of catching up to do and we were left alone, not hurried or interrupted. They were very good about catering for intolerances. I will definitely go again for a special occasion.

A lovely hotel and restaurant decorated beautifully. The first two starters were unavailable. The air conditioning was so cold it was awful and couldn't really get away from it. Poor selection of red wines. Food was good and very tasty apart from the dessert which was horrific. Sticky toffee pudding was cold inside and hard. I would go as far as to say it was gone off! Staff were friendly but just seemed to be new starters and didn't really have a clue. We did eat very early so the ambience was dead but more people had been sitted when we were leaving so couldn't be helped. I would be happy to go again but would probably choose to eat somewhere else in Exeter next time.

Food was alright, nothing special, my burger was quite dry. There was a large party nearby so it was quite noisy. I have to say though the service was amazing. Some of the best restaurant service I have ever experienced.
