    We unfortunately had multiple issues with service at Cordelia Fish Bar this past Saturday evening. We ordered the recommended special (Sea Bream) and the order was taken and then later we were told they were out of it. Then we ordered the recommended alternative (Sea Bass) and the order was accepted and then later we were told they were out of that also. A manager came over to explain but in the course of the discussion indicated that this was partially our fault because we ordered the entree after we had order the appetizer and not at the same time we ordered the appetizer which is really not a great way to approach this situation since both orders were originally accepted. While our reservation was on the later side of the evening it was well within the operating hours. For a fish restaurant to be out of 2 of the only 4 or 5 fish entrees on the menu during normal operating hours on a Saturday evening does not bode well. While the servers themselves were actually quite friendly, the service itself was poor and also slow. While they did provide an additional side and additional dessert that was not billed, we were not asked ahead of time if we wanted that particular side or that particular dessert so it would not have been clear if those were things we actually wanted to eat. There is no shortage of above average but not phenomenal restaurants in DC and, in fact, no shortage of those within Union Market so we will not be going back to Cordelia.

    Cordelia provided everything I needed for a perfect late-night meal—exceptional service, mouthwatering food, and a decadent sweet potato dessert that still lingers on my taste buds. I’ll be coming back again and again!

    Our server was Diamond and he was very knowledgeable about not only the menu but the wine as well! I was torn between two different types and he brought me both to try. The hospitality from start to finish was impeccable! Definitely my favorite place in DC

    As a first time patron, it was great to enjoy an excellent meal while supported by a great team. Their suggestions were well received and yielded delicious plates to our table. The wine list includes a lot of diverse Spanish wines that are reasonably priced. Future visits are definitely warranted!

    Brunch was great. Calamari, oysters were outstanding. The prawns and waffles dish was amazing, the waffles were simply perfectly made. The unlimited drink special is great, but has 2 issues for improvement: 1. Drinks were way too sweet. 2. All the drinks included are rum based. Would have been great to have more variety of spirits.

    Went for brunch with a friend. Food was underwhelming. Our black bass was small and improperly cooked. Our Dutch baby was gummy in the middle. Service was slow despite a nearly empty restaurant. Not sure that I will return.

    Our waiter Ebon guided us through the specials and all his suggestions were spot on. We loved the brussel sprouts so much we asked for a second order! The suggested sauces made for great compliments to our entrees. Raves about the beet salad and sea bass! It’s a bit pricey but we knew that going in.
