About this restaurant

  • Great for scenic views
  • Good for special occasions
  • Good for business meals
Premier Prime Rib Restaurant of Southeastern Wisconsin.

Albert Kopulos and Gigi Falbo opened the Corner House Supper Club on August 14th, 1945. Albert ran the Corner House until his passing on February 11th 2001. At that time his son's John and George continued to run the Corner House for about 17 years. After numerous attempts to purchase the Corner House over a 20 year period, in October 2017 the Kopulos brothers called me and said they were ready to retire. After many months of negotiating we closed the deal on March 28th, 2018. And I am very proud to say I am the new owner of a Racine staple. My intention is very simple: to carry on the tradition of Racine finest and only Supper Club. With the Corner House staff/team already in place, we thrive to improve on every dinning experience.

So whether you're a new or long time patron of the Corner House or just passing through on business, we will treat you with the highest standards.

Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Corner House on the Lake offers a "fantastic restaurant" experience with "grade A" service and a warm ambiance. While the prime rib is often praised as tender and juicy, some guests note inconsistencies in food quality and service. It's a beautiful location, but some diners feel the quality does not match the price.

First time here. Tried to order some prime rib appetizer, was told it is not available at the tables only at the bar. Thought that was a little odd. So I then Ordered a crown apple old fashioned sweet. It was very bitter, and was not well made at all. I couldn't even taste the apple crown. Plates and glassware were all plastic. For $200 meal I would expect a little higher quality. Ordered a french onion soup, that was extremely salty. Only good part was the regular cut prime rib. Was very tender and juicy.

Our server Christine was on point. Orange roughy and shrimp fettuccine were very good. But we had three orders of prime rib at the table, two of which were over cooked. Christine said , so sorry I’ll go back to kitchen and rectify. She comes back with the same dishes and says my manager says they are just fine and sets the plates down! My husband gave her an earful, and she apologizes and says her manager won’t budge! It was my fathers88th birthday, so we didn’t want to cause a scene and upset him, but we will NEVER be back! No check adjustments either. Appalling! They used to have the most wonderful prime rib. Those days are over.

The food was alright. Ambiance was wonderful, but neither made it worth returning. Service was lackluster & disappointing. Hostess told me there was a 15-20 minute wait even though I had a reservation. Waitress made us feel rushed once we sat down & we had to ask for water several times before it arrived. Definitely not the Corner House of old.

For what they charge, the food should have been much better. For starters, their CO2 was out for their sodas…on Valentine’s weekend! The stuffed mushrooms had good flavor, however, you only get four small ones for $20! The French onion soup had a mealy texture from puréed onions, not very palatable. The prime rib, which they are famous for, was tender but not very flavorful. However the brandy old fashioned was delicious and the lobster tail was cooked well.

{I'm 80 yo and live in Brookfield,WI and was surprised to see the Corner House appear on Open Table and that it had relocated to the lakeshore. I grew up in Racine and had so many memorable meals at the CH over the years since the 60's. I decided to make the drive to reexperience the extraordinary prime rib of my memories. Sadly 'twas not to be. The restaurant is really quite beautiful. If only someone could sit down with the owner and the chef.

Corner House once a staple in local fine dining, has become a disappointment! The food is mediocre, often cold, and efforts to fix the cold food does not resolve the issue. For the price of the food, it should be exceptional. My friends and family will not return.
