About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Romantic
  • Neighborhood gem
Cottier's restaurant is situated on the first floor of the building and features shimmering gold ceilings, original salvaged church chairs and bespoke, handcrafted gilt mirrors. The elegant interior is eye-catching but the exterior views of the illuminated church steeple and the mature gardens below are possibly one of the most charming surrounds for eating out in the Glasgow area.

Service was fine, food v average / in fact the moussaka was awful - mushed aubergine, no potato, no bechamal sauce. Only 4 dessert choices - two of which were cheese and ice cream so only two real desserts to choose from. Not the best meal. Won't be returning.

Relaxed, friendly easy going atmosphere where staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable but not overly pushy. Food was absolutely delicious and was just the right portion size. Would highly recommended to friends and family and will definitely be back.

This restaurant was empty when we arrived at around 7pm and with good reason. It was pretty awful. The service was mediocre, the white wine was warm, and the food was sub-par. They ran out of the food we wanted (pork). The replacement meal we chose was curry and it was served with tortillas (no one wants to eat curry with tortillas). My meal was vegetarian moussaka with poorly cooked eggplant, ok flavour. My small Greek salad was the best part of the meal. While we were dining the waitress was throwing around cutlery very loudly for at least 15 minutes. They don't serve cocktails. There is a bar downstairs that looks pretty busy, serving the same food. Only tourists showed up when we were there, with good reason. It is over priced, sub-par food.

Menu on website was nothing like the menu in restaurant. Restaurant was almost empty on a Friday evening therefore no ambience. felt as if restaurant was still being organised.

Having checked the menu on line my partner and I made the decision to go to Cottiers for dinner only to find my choice was off the menu and my partner's was no longer on the menu as the menu had changed and it was the old menu on their website. Disgraceful!

Booked the restaurant for 6 people before going to concert in Cottiers Theatre at 7.30pm. We were all agreed that the food and service was excellent. We'll definitely be back!

We had not been to Cottiers upstairs restaurant for a couple of years and were pleased to see that it had undergone considerable refurbishment since the last time. The food was good, not too expensive (steaks apart) and served by a friendly and efficient waiter. Wine list also affordable. We shall definitely return, sooner rather than later.

Had only one night to dine in Glasgow with my mother, both visiting from Canada and celebrating Mother's Day. I researched Cottiers and it sounded intriguing and we are so very pleased we went. The food was absolutely delicious and the venue delightful. I had the curry of the day which was Beef Curry and my mom the Lamb Ragout. Both superb! Highly recommend.
