When visiting the restaurant, patrons descend 18 feet underground in a canopied glass elevator, accessed from street level, for a culinary experience unlike any other. The American Steakhouse offers an expansive 1,800 square foot subterranean courtyard allowing patrons to dine al fresco and enjoy a New Orleans-inspired exterior space. This cool oasis is complete with a 20 foot, 5-tiered granite water wall, multi-tiered landscaping, lava rock fire pit, and black granite bar. Dakota's below-ground patio has long been considered one of the city's most romantic dining spots.

We believe the best steaks come from the best cut and quality. That’s why we get all of our beef fresh from renowned beef purveyors, Allen Brothers. Each cut is corn and grain fed USDA Prime steak that our chef handpicks. Each steak is aged for a minimum of 28 days for a perfectly tender, juicy bite every time.

It is our goal to give you a great meal every time you join us for lunch or dinner.

When ended up doing the chef's tasting and it far exceeded our expectations! Everything was cooked to perfection and the flavors were perfectly balanced! Our server, Brandon, gave impeccable service and we had such a special experience. Will definitely return!!

They had our table ready with rose petals and a Happy Anniversary sign waiting at our table. Service and food were excellent. I would highly recommend this place.

The food was amazing except from the risotto. The mushrooms and cream spinach 100/10! The steak mealty! Julio was an amazing host to us! Will be returning and for sure recommend!

Wasn’t impressed. When we got there we went to the bar while waiting for our reservation. The bartenders were not friendly at all. When we got to our table it had a “happy anniversary” note on it, but that was it. Nothing at all to make our anniversary special. No dessert. Nothing. The waitress was fine, no complaint. The food was just ok. I ordered the crab legs specifically because when I asked, I was told they would already be cracked. When they brought them out, they were not. So I had to sit there while my husband ate his steak, waiting for my crab legs to come back. No apology, nothing. All in all it was a very mediocre experience and we won’t be returning.

The drinks were great. The appetizer was better than the main course. The salmon was dry and overcooked. Ambiance was okay. The pianist was great. Nothing to write home about.
