Daniel's Broiler in Downtown Seattle offers "excellent food and great service" with a sophisticated atmosphere. Diners appreciate the "amazing experience" and flavorful dishes, from steak to seafood. I came with my family to celebrate my Mom’s birthday. We waited around 20 minutes for our first cocktail. We asked for bread and it took nearly 30 minutes to arrive. The scallops were overcooked and even the steak did not taste good, the charring was almost bitter. My salad came out with the wrong dressing (which they quickly fixed) It was a huge disappointment and not even close to worth what it cost. Rather than celebrating I felt annoyed

Ordered our filets medium and got them dark brown in the center. Worst steak I’ve ever tried to eat. Barely got one bite down. Baked potato was fantastic though.

Jacob was a very wonderful, attentive waiter and Jeff was fantastic with his breadth of knowledge about wine and spirits. He recommended an excellent rye for me, a bourbon gal, and it was phenomenal (it was EH Taylor Straight Rye). The food was delicious and the beverages were very tasty. Highly recommend!

Service was extremely slow. My steak was medium, not medium rare.

We come from Spokane where restaurants don’t add a service charge that only goes to the restaurant and not the server. Why don’t they just up the prices so the customer knows the true cost of the meal?

Service was good at the beginning but really slowed down at the end it took a long time to get our food wrapped and our check. We were late for our show and we should have had plenty of time and the dining area was half empty. One of the servers or support servers was really awkward when delivering our calamari. He asked my mother if she was a “squider”.. I think he was going for shock value crude humor and it was just uncomfortable. Overall food was good not amazing, the rolls are bland and the broccoli was ok. The hollandaise sauce that comes with the broccoli was not seasoned enough and we had to add salt. I’m not sure I would come back due to the service and paying $300 for a meal that was overall good but not amazing.
