I mentioned that we had a birthday on the reservation but was disappointed that the server did not at least bring out a candle with the dessert we ordered

Very poor service and experience at our first visit to Dauphine’s. The host was njce and welcoming but after that, it felt like we were bothering everyone else. The waiter started off happy and kind, but after asking him questions about the food (which he said ask him anything), we placed orders and never really interacted with him too much. Drinks took forever to come out, asked for lemons 4 times before receiving them with eyes rolled, steak prepared with ingredients requested to be excluded (we still paid for it), had to ask a passing waiter for a steak knife, another passing waiter for silver ware, and it goes on. The manager seemed taken back that I thought the coco-cola in the small bottle was flat but I couldn’t help but notice that all service went down hill after that comment. I noticed our initial server treated the other table beside us so much better so who knows. I was so excited to visit Dauphine’s as I wanted a taste of NoLA but I can’t say I will return. The food I purchased (catfish with rice) wasn’t bad but if I planned to go back I would definitely get something better., my nephew’s gumbo small plate he liked, crab sticks were fairly tasteless, and my friend couldn’t enjoy the steak because she was told the blue cheese would be left off and wasn’t but it was cooked the way she asked. I can always give food a second chance but made to feel unwelcome is what matters to me.

From the moment we stepped inside, the restaurant’s stunning interior design set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The ambiance was further elevated by a live jazz band whose music provided the perfect backdrop to the afternoon. The service was attentive and friendly throughout, making us feel genuinely welcomed. We began with the Oysters Dauphines — fresh, flavorful, and impeccably prepared. The beef and sweet potato hash was a standout dish, with tender meat and a delightful contrast of textures. Paired with collard greens chimichurri, it was an inspired combination that brought depth and vibrancy to every bite. The catfish and grits were another highlight, beautifully seasoned and balanced — not overly salted, allowing the ingredients to shine. The cocktails were just as impressive. The Hurricane-style Mimosa was bright and refreshing, while the Higgins 75 offered a sophisticated twist on a classic. The Chicory Espresso Martini was a bold, rich finish to the meal, expertly crafted and full of flavor. Altogether, this was an exceptional experience from start to finish — a perfect blend of atmosphere, service, and culinary creativity.

Food and drinks were decent. Experience overshadowed but poor service from our server Kia. She seemed inexperienced and uninterested in us. Left multiple times for extended periods of time. Id go back and just sit at the bar

Nice place and nice service, Drinks, old fashioned was excellent, Beaujolais probably opened bottle for too many days. but food just so so. Good started but entree barely at temperature (sous vide?) At over $200 for 2, it sticks as a « ouch »
