   $65 for a burger and fries on Mother’s Day. 1 Shrimp in the shrimp cocktail appetizer that came with it. You gotta be kidding me.

   My mom, grandmother and I had a great time at Mother’s Day brunch today! Nestor was so accommodating and friendly as he brought us to our table, welcoming us as it was our first time, and telling us a little about the restaurant. Grace was our server for this visit, and her team kept us hydrated and taken care of throughout our meal. It was a lovely experience, and we were glad to have chosen this event for our special day together. Thank you!

   Save your money. Food is mediocre at best. Service is subpar from the unfriendly hostess to the non existent wait staff. We sat for 20 minutes before I finally asked the woman who I think is the manager - by the way she was fielding complaints from another table - to please send our waiter. She was actually the saving grace. The view is great but I will NEVER return. Most importantly the food was actually awful.

   There are so many “rules” at Dear Jane’s that it’s difficult to justify their prices. My guest was 5 minutes behind me in an uber but I couldn’t be seated until he arrived so that the server wouldn’t have to make multiple trips to the bar and kitchen (isn’t that part of the job?). We weren’t allowed to order appetisers while we enjoyed our cocktails because the entire order must be placed at once (was not given a reason for this). I misplaced my valet ticket and was told I needed to show my drivers license to retrieve my car (why?).. my car was the only car left in the single row valet parking spots in front of the restaurant. For an average cost of 100.00 per person, there are better places to dine in LA.

   There were several mistakes with our orders. The servers have no authority to fix anything. All they can do is escalate the issue to the manager, who was confrontational and rude. Either she was having a really bad day or she’s just not suited for the hospitality business.

   The service is unforgivable. I am done with the handheld digital devices that make it impossible for the waitstaff to look up from the screen. It took WAY too long for someone to come to take our order, and when they finally did, it was only for drinks. This woman stood next to our table for almost 10 minutes trying to punch in drink orders for 4 people. Are you kidding?! Write it down, and leave my table, and punch it in in the back. 30 min later, she returned for our food order. By now, we were all over it. and then we never saw her again. Instead we were attacked by overly aggressive busboys trying to take our food away, before we finished anything. STOP TRYING TO TAKE MY PLATE!!! We had to bark at them multiple times that we weren't finished. But then had to ask someone else for the bill. What is happening here? Why are there 300 busboys, and no servers?! For this price, along with the "just fine" food, it is unacceptable.

    Not a miss on our selections the whole night. Great raw, wedge salad, oysters, entrees, dessert, wine/cocktails and importantly—service.
