   WOW!!! There are no words. I surprised a friend with a reservation here and we had the bread and seasonal dips to start and honestly, if that was the only thing we ordered.... I would have been more than happy. We were both expecting the dips to be of a hummus variety and that was absolutely NOT the case. They were gorgeous visually and DEEP with flavor that I just didn't want to stop eating. It is one of the types of dishes that I classify as never wanting to finish. As then, your gorgeous treat is gone and that is such sadness. PLEASE everyone give this gem a taste... you will fall in love with the flavors, just as we did.

   Started with flatbread and dips, the star of which at this moment was a carrot and yogurt dip. Then lamb shank, chicken breast with barberries, duck leg fesenjoon, and a fabulously delicious, seasonal spinach and mushroom dish, all gorgeously smelling of saffron and spices, all tangy with lemon or barberries or pomegranate molasses, each cooked to perfection. Only regret is not having room to try desserts. Great food, pleasant atmosphere, excellent value!

   Outstanding all round. The serving staff gave us the space we needed to catch up with old friends as well as delivering excellent service. Food was delicious. The vegan was well accommodated. Great ambiance.

   Our favourite bistro when we are in Kitsilano! I had the most delicious omelet with house sausage that had such wonderful spices accompanied by their seeded bread!

    Quite a few decent Persian food restaurants in town and if a sizable portion of delicious minced or chopped kebab or a lamb shank with a bowl of rice is your family plan for this evening, Delara is not for you! :) It is, however, a symphony of taste and colors … a careful selection and artful blend of all the instruments of the Persian cuisine composed to perfection in every opportunity. It’s not just where you dine or wine, it’s where you’ll be respected … you along with your taste and your plan to treat yourself and your loved ones. Check chef’s special every time, treat yourself with the appies and let your explorer loose, cocktails are hidden treasures, and whatever you do … plan for a full course meal because you won’t leave a winner if you didn’t try the deserts, period. Cool ambience, very clean, and an amazing staff is standard issue here and sets the bar up high for family-owned spots and corporate-run chains in Vancouver!
