   Wonderful service I can’t give Troy enough praise he was knowledgeable about the menu fun to talk to and just a great vibe in general. All customers will be lucky to have him! overall great experience great night great food.

A Culinary Delight at Delena: A Michelin Star Experience in Washington DC Today, I had the most wonderful lunch at Delena, a Michelin-starred gem in Washington DC, owned by the renowned Chef Richard Sandoval. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and impeccably elegant—perfect for a midday escape into culinary bliss. I started with their signature appetizer crab pumpkin soup, which was beautifully plated and full of bold, vibrant flavors. For my main course, I enjoyed a perfectly cooked birria taco dish that was a masterpiece of both taste and presentation—each bite was an experience! The delicate balance of spices and textures showcased why Chef Sandoval’s cuisine is so highly celebrated. To end the meal on a sweet note, I indulged in a decadent oxaca corn cake dessert, which was almost too beautiful to eat.    They don't have an option to not cross-contaminate food with shellfish. While this didn't affect me personally, shellfish allergies are extremely common so this is troubling. Also, service wasn't great.

   It’s okay. Not worth the hype. When it’s expensive people want to know why. I was one of them. Better Mexican food around DC for affordable price.

   Staff is very friendly. The only thing I would state is the waiter tried to give us two alcoholic drinks that we did not order. Also on our receipt, there was one that I did order, but it was not rung up as the drink I ordered. I shrugged it off just assuming maybe they didn’t have a way to ring it up.

   We were seated as soon as we arrived, the hostess staff was very warm and friendly. Alexandra F. our waitress, was not on her A game today. We ordered the unlimited brunch where you get to try everything on the menu. There were periods of time where we were sitting for a while waiting on our next items to arrive. There was also about a 15 min span where our waitress disappeared and we had to have someone find her. When she came to the table, she said “you’re done right?” We had to inform her that we didn’t receive all of our brunch items. It was approaching 3pm which is when the kitchen closed so now we were rushed. Her vibe was just off the entire meal.

    Ambience is great. That’s about it for this restaurant. Our server Adrian was impatient and rude. Took approx 25 before anyone took an initial order. When we had questions about the menu, his immediate response was ‘I’ll come back because you need more time.’ Upset that he had to answer any questions we had. I understand it was busy but the responses were rude and unnecessary. Food was subpar especially for the price.
