Visit to salmesbury Hall taken as a whole was lovely but waffles were almost inedible. Four of us, out of a total of 5, left most of our waffle on our plate. They were hard to cut and unpleasantly chewey and tough. As an aside, they were expensive. I paid almost £9 for one scoop of ice cream, some banana, sauce (and an inedible waffle). Hall and Gardens lovely. Location of wafflery lovely in a courtyard garden with fountain.

Maria was really lovely and welcoming and the menu choice was good. The waffles were fantastic, however they were quite expensive but I understand this is how the hall itself makes money and means they do not need to charge for entry etc. Really there was far too much toppings on the waffles (ice cream and sauce), although delicious. I would rather have a slightly smaller portion and pay less. It was still a great experience though and I would recommend, just make sure you skip lunch beforehand!

Quite overpriced for what you get, there are other places locally that offer the same items at a better value for money.

A lovely quiet little cafe with a decent selection of hot and cold drinks. We went for the waffles and were not disappointed. The banoffee and biscoff waffles were very light and fresh… with a mountain of ice cream! Glad we shared with the kids 🧇😊

We reserved a table for 6. When we arrived, there was a lengthy queue to reach the till. We reached the front of the queue and were informed that the staff had been unable to check the booking system due to time constraints therefore a table hadn’t been reserved for us. The restaurant was very busy and the staff did seem overwhelmed however they apologised and did manage to find us a table for 4 and a table for 2 which were next to each other. We ordered the waffles (2 x Nutella; 2 x chocolate and 1 x banoffee) and went to sit down. After a short while we were informed that the restaurant had run out of Nutella so we were asked to change these 2 orders. A few minutes later we were informed that the banoffee order would also have to be changed. We ended up with 5 chocolate waffles which, although we enjoyed, was not what we had ordered initially. Overall the experience was disappointing and we will not be visiting again.

Lovely helpful staff despite it being busy and them being understaffed. They didn’t let it affect the experience and went above and beyond to cater for our needs.
