Not greeted well on arrival 20 minutes early, told to go and get a drink locally despite a bar being in the restaurant. Sat at the bar after 5 minutes when seats came available, despite no staff to guide us, completely ignored for 10 minutes, eventually getting a drinks menu from another couple, finally got a drink. Tables very cramped. Staters all very good, excellent oysters, minimal choice of red wine but it is a fish restaurant. Half bottles as a carafe a good idea and reasonably priced for high end place like this. Delicious staters. Decided to share a portion of main course turbot after a couple of starters each but £40 for a 300 gram portion of turbot which wasn’t filleted makes turbot bone about £130 per kilo. Someone is having a laugh at our expenses. If spending this much in Edinburgh there are many better places with equivalent food quality, better wine choices , better service and nicer ambience.
