   We used to dine fairly often at Eastern Standard at its old location in Kenmore Square. Both food and service were always good, and it was one of the few places in Boston where you could get an actual meal in the late evening. We used to go around 11 p.m., after symphony concerts. This was our first experience at the new location. The address is on Beacon Street, but the entrance is not, and it's not visible from the street. There's no place convenient to park. We were lucky to find a spot on Beacon Street, a short walk from the restaurant, but it was Sunday, at 7 p.m. There's also a nearby garage, but they charge $27 in the evening, which is more than we would ever want to spend for parking, added to the restaurant bill. The menu is very similar to the one at the old place, and here, too, the food and the service were excellent. The music was too loud for our taste, but that was a characteristic of the old place, too. We were told that the kitchen closes at 11:00 sharp (earlier sometimes on slow nights), so late dining is no longer an option. To sum up: great food, excellent service, quite noisy, difficult to find and parking is a problem. If you live close enough to walk, then we definitely recommend Eastern Standard.

   The food is wonderful and we will definitely be going back. This past visit though the service was a little sub par. We weren’t sat for over 30 minutes after our reservation time and our waiter was really inattentive, only stopping by once or twice the whole meal and brining our meals out cold.

   This was our second time at the restaurant. First the positives- the bar tender was fabulous. And although we had a long wait for our table, the manager gave us drinks for free without us asking or complaining about the wait. Things went downhill once at our table. The server brought out the wrong wine, our appetizers and main courses came out at the same time. And the food was good but not exceptional. After having an incredible experience last visit with impeccable service and exceptional food this was certainly a disappointment. Not planning to return.

   We had a stellar experience at Eastern Standard. The food was absolutely delicious, the cocktails were interesting (in a really good way!) and the space is gorgeous (although a skosh on the noisy side). But it was service that tipped our night over the top. It was exceptional: our server Jackie was absolutely wonderful. She treated our group so well, and was amazingly attentive, especially given how busy the restaurant was. This was my first time in Eastern Standard’s not-so-new-anymore space, and I don’t know why I waited!

   Excellent food and drink. Steak frittes was excellent (skirt steak cooked precisely to order), as was the lobster gnocchi. Good service at the bar.

   Food, drinks and vibes were great. Great menu. Variety of choices without being overwhelming and everything came out perfect. Great staff and service.

    Great cosy vibe for a cold winter evening. Service was really great. Our server was attentive and prompt. Food was punching above the price so really good value for money. Get the Pearl Street to drink - it was delicious. Highly recommend this place.
