    Beautiful restaurant but the food was kind of disappointing ( when comparing to the branches in Manhattan). Pizza crust a little dry, appetizer- squash bruschetta- below expectations, only desert- tiramisu - was really good. Service in need of improvements.

    The appetizers were good but everything else was awful and overpriced. They served a salami and cheese platter without bread. My pasta as a main course was ice cold and about 4 fork fulls. Son's steak had no seasoning. Service was atrocious. I had reservations and we still had to wait for 25 minutes. I use a cane and there was nowhere to sit and no one offered me a seat. Servers arrived with main course before clearing the appetizer plates -- i had to tell them to clear them. I had to ask for grated cheese for our pasta. Dining room was dark and gloomy and the music they were playing was awful. And this was Christmas Eve. With so many fantastic Italian restaurants in NJ there is no reason at all to waste a meal out eating at Eataly. Completely disappointing.

    Our waitress who was not even suppose to be at our table came over and treated us with respect and professionalism. She was attentive to what we needed. Everything was timely. Our waitress went above and beyond. I hope the management realizes what a gem you having working hard for you. Lisa and Joe Daleo We would come back for the purpose of how well we were treated.

    First time trying new restaurant at Short Hills Mall...reservation required...waited about 10 min to seated in an empty section with one other table of three. Ordered focacia with olive oil...bread not complimentary on table. Had cavetelli with sausage and broccoli rabe....small amount sausage ground into dish....broccoli rabe good...overall mediocre dish...needed seasoning...partner had bolgonese sauce and pasta...same...needed more seasoning. Wait staff attentive...Daniella was wonderful. Will give it another try....

    We had very lovely hostess and wait staff and were seated on time. However the kitchen and food still needs refining. Main courses for two people were not prepared or served together. Salad addition - shrimp - were too few. We waited too long for espresso and watched bar tender do nothing. Wine was excellent! This was our second time and although improved from 2 weeks ago the restaurant still needs work.

    The service was horrible. Waitress lied to the manager. One meal came and waited 15 minutes for the other person’s meal to arrive. Food quality was poor. Very disappointing.

    We had a reservation of a month for 5 adults. They squished us into a very small table.. Our server was very nice but the table was ridiculous. Would not return. Its overpriced for a mall restaurant.

    Honestly, a tad disappointed. The dining area was designed nicely. We were seated along the glass walls and it was quite cold and most dining guests were wearing their jackets.. there should have been adequate heat distribution. The service was good. The food for the price point was rather small portion wise and not as good as I would have expected. I had a linguine and seafood dish and the seafood was very sparse. The other members of my party felt the same about theirs as well. Overall, there are better Italian fare restaurants in the area.

    I knew going into this that the service was not great and it was certainly confirmed after eating there. We went to the new Short hills Mall location. Food and drinks were great. The quality is good and it is delicious. Food also came out fast. The biggest problem in this location is that from the moment you check in for a table till the time you leave, the humans running the place appear to have zero experience in the restaurant or customer service industry. There were 10 tables open when we got there and they had a line to wait to sit. We had a reservation and were there 15 minutes early and they still couldn’t figure it out. The bar staff invited us to take a table there and while it was nice we really wanted to sit at a regular table according to our reservation. I will say the bar seemed to run pretty well given the total experience we had. When we finally sat, our server Roger had no idea what was on the menu nor what to do since we had gotten drinks at the bar before we sat. It was like his whole script was thrown off b/c he was trained to ask for drinks and when we already had them, he was lost. After taking out food order, Roger never came to our table again. We had better responses from the food runner and random people who worked there we waved down to get extra plates, forks, pay the bill etc. No one ever came to check on us after each course was served and dishes were piled at the end of our table waiting to be cleared and were only done so when the next course would be set down at the table. Water seemed to be a problem. We had a second round of drinks delivered (that we did not order) and still never had our water glasses filled. This was 1/2 way through into our main dishes. It was clear after that that Roger added the drinks to our table waiting but obviously set off tickets for them to be reordered instead of just added. After we finished eating we just immediately wanted to pay. This place can be a gold mine but they need a strong GM to execute
