   We love this venue. Everytime we visit from South Carolina we enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and superb food!! Menu items are unique and always perfectly prepared. Servers are knowledgeable and courteous. You won’t be disappointed!!

   Since the last time we were there the brunch menu has gone downhill. The waffle was not as good as it had been and they've taken the croissant french toast off the menu. Ombiance was good, just wish the food was better for the prices. Also ordered a "hot" chocolate that wasn't even lukewarm.

   After 90 minutes we still didn’t have our entrees. I left feeling sad and hungry. Still spent $100 or so on drinks and appetizer. Went home and had cold pizza for Valentine’s Day. What a massive disappointment.

   Very busy and backed up on Valentine’s Day but it’s understandable as are most restaurants. I probably spent 3 hours there from time of arrival for a reservation to leaving with a lot of that time waiting for food, but again it’s understandable for the day. The ribeye steak had a lot more fat than most would prefer (maybe 30-40% of area) and the collagen connective tissue in the steak was still tough and had to spit out/cut around it. I like fat though so I didn’t mind too much. The bacon wrapped dates were fantastic though.

   The restaurant has a great ambiance. It’s different from the usual, with beautiful mountain views. My server was great, but overall, the service didn’t meet the expectations. The menu offers a good selection of alcoholic beverages. The downside was the wait—45 minutes for the food! That’s way too long for a single dish. Unfortunately, this turned what seemed like a promising experience into something disappointing.

   We had a reservation which implied they would be prepared to serve our party efficiently at the agreed upon time as per the reservation. I understand that Valentine’s Day is a busy day for restaurants everywhere but ultimately it is up to the establishment to limit their bookings to a number they are equipped to serve… Drink orders were promptly taken and that was the end of the prompt service. Appetizer took about 35 minutes which was astounding as we had ordered tortilla chips and dip (a seemingly easy order to fulfill.) Entrees arrived about 45 minutes after the appetizer. My wife and I had both ordered ribeye steaks but by the time they actually served them we were no longer hungry after sitting so long post-appetizer. We requested boxes to take our food to go after one bite each and while the boxes were delivered quickly, the check took another 15-20 minutes to appear. All in all a frustrating experience as I felt like Eight Settlers way overextended themselves with their bookings and then didn’t have a follow through plan. We’re not sure if we will return but if we do we will be sure to make it be on a quiet Monday when the parking is empty rather than overflowing. Also what’s up with the executive reserved spaces? You’ve got a tiny parking lot and your premier spots are reserved for your execs and completely empty. Yikes. 1/10

Due to unforeseen very last-minute staffing challenges, we made the difficult decision to refuse walk-ins to prioritize our reservations. Valentine’s Day is an exceptionally busy evening, but it is our responsibility to ensure that we can deliver the level of service our guests expect.
