Unfortunately, our experience was underwhelming. I’ve been going to El CID since I was a little girl. Not sure if the changes were due from COVID, but the dinner we had for the flamenco show was sub-par. The soup was delicious, the salad was under-dressed, the paella was burnt and soggy, and both desserts were served in a tin and very bitter. The old days of El CID seem to ha e dwindled. No drink menu? The show was wonderful though.

Great Spanish food. Try the paella and strong sangrias. Excellent flamenco show. Would come again.

Wonderful that the restaurant opened again. Thrilled for the performers and wait staff. However, we had to suffer through the sound check guy (during dinner) continuing (throughout the entire dinner - seriously) to test the sound system, Our server succeeded, once, to have the sound lowered during dinner. We would have appreciated more than five minutes of peaceful background music. Not only did his sound check continue through dinner, he also played (also too loudly) over the current background music with the music he was to play during the performance. (That was an experience - two songs, too loud, playing at the same time.) It became amusing (once we go over the annoyance) to see just how clueless and awful the experience would be before the performance began. Good new for you reading this. El Cid will have either fired the sound guy or instructed him how to use the sound system before you attend. The performers deserve, and will appreciate, your attendance. Enjoy....and please report if the sound got better.

My experience at El cid was more or less subpar. Starting with the Empanadas, they were cold in the middle and I could tell there frozen. Which is okay but at least try and pretend it’s fresh and cook it right. I ordered the Gambas which is basically shrimp cooked in a nice garlic oil, I will give the shrimp a solid 8 , then as I moved towards dinner items I ordered the seafood paella along side there deli style sandwich. I was disappointed in the Paella, I’ve had many different styles of this fantastic dish but this one in particular was dry and undercooked. The best part of this dish was the seafood “ Thank God “ the deli style sandwich was good a solid 8 but let’s be honest we aren’t coming to Spanish restaurant for the sandwich, overall I expected more from a place that’s been around for years, maybe it was a one off. Would I give this place a second try ? Sure. But it the same again happens well what can I say. For more detailed reviews go check out my blogger page @Flavorkitchenandspice

We had a great time at El Cid. Even under this pandemic circumstances, the ambiance and worm filling of the place is still mystical. It was truly unfortunate that the Flamenco show was not available. This would had put the icing on the cake. We look forward for its return in August. I recommend El Cid to every body in search of a fun, high quality, and entertaining restaurant.

No dancing bc of covid. The place is a dirty dive in a bad neighborhood. Looks like someone’s filthy Back yard. No thanks.
