This was our fourth time to El Encanto, this time for our first brunch there to celebrate my Latino husband's birthday. It was our second time being taken care of Anastasia, who was again fantastic with great suggestions and making sure her support staff looked after us. We love the vibe, from the warm welcome when we walked in, to the modern-Mex decor and the view, to the delicious food. My daughter is foodie and was very impressed to find authentic house-made Mexican maize hot chocolate on the brunch menu. Delicious! (And filling, like sipping cozy, chocolatey cream of wheat. Next time, we'll split one).. There were traditionally-inspired dishes with tender dried meat (it sounds like an oxymoron, I know, but so tender!), and finely shredded beef, lovely salad with watercress and beautifully light avocado toast (they will cut the two pieces for you into four to share for starters), and even pancakes and French toast with Mexican flavor twists. .. And the dessert! Oh my goodness. Have the dessert and go for a walk after. ;-) We love EL Encanto and hope they will find a similar water-view spot on the Seattle side of the lake so we can come more often!

Seattle was showing off on a splendid Cinco de Mayo evening! Our server Luis was incredible (on his 2nd day) and provided wonderful pairing recommendations. He even present the dishes in both English and Spanish. Breathtaking ambiance and mouth watering plates hit the spot!

The lively ambience, primarily local people greeting one another at El Encanto, signals that this is one of Kirkland's most popular restaurants. The food is good, although not particularly Mexican. The mole colorado is excellent, but not served on chicken or crispy tortillas, as restaurants in Mexico do, but comes with empanadas which absorb the sauce--and flavor, while making the dough soggy. Chicken adobado, which in Mexico implies heat, is good, but not the least bit spicy. Queso fundido, typically made with Oaxacan or Chihuahuan cheese, has the consistency and flavor of Monterrey Jack or mozzarella. In short, it's a menu adapted for "gringo" consumption, which, of course, is the intention. As such, El Encanto offers an amazingly lively venue for a very appreciative local clientele. I loved my margaritas, by the way.

I like the place but it’s just okay. We went for a birthday and they didn’t give a complimentary dessert, and they also forgot about an app that came really late but still charged for it. The food overall was just okay, lacks a bit of flavor but the location and ambiance are great.

Great for a sunny afternoon. Guacamole with the corn was good! The tacos came out on a large bowl, I think we would have preferred personal rice and beans.

I've been to El Encanto twice and both times had a great experience! My favorite part of my first visit was our waiter, Hugo. He is phenomenal and made the entire meal a fun experience. When he briefly stopped by our table during the 2nd visit, it reminded me just how great he is! Thank you Hugo!
