Nestled high above LoHi on the fifth floor of 2930 Umatilla, El Five boasts spectacular, unobstructed views of the downtown Denver skyline. The menu is an homage to the Mediterranean and features small plates built on bold flavors found throughout the region: Spain, North Africa, the Middle East.

Inside, the space is understated and sensual, flanked by a large, open-air patio for sun-kissed Colorado nights. As the newest restaurant in the Edible Beats family, El Five celebrates the confluence of flavors, ideas and geographies made possible by a subtle shift in perspective.

One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Denver! We did the restaurant week special and got full portions of each course (which is quite unusual for restaurant week so kudos!). Everything was delicious and our server coursed everything out perfectly. Mom had a glass of the tempernillo blanco which was amazing and as a non drinker I very much enjoyed the NA Sangria. Mad respect for any place that offers a good NA selection! But the service was the highlight! The host was super friendly and chatted with us for a bit as we arrived early for our reservation, our server was knowledgeable and professional while still being fun, the manager stopped by and was a peach and the food runner chatted us up and was hilarious as well. Loved every bite and every minute of our experience!

Ambiance was amazing, we went for a late Sunday dinner. It was still pretty busy but very beautiful setting. Restaurant week menu gave a nice experience of what they have to offer. Sea bass was amazing. Would definitely return for a date night or special night on the town.

Do not order $15 glass of Sangria: murky liquid on frozen, tasteless fruit. Otherwise a lovely dining experience.

Food good, not great. Brought friends visiting from out of town. Embarrassed by the experience. Seated in the back side - no view. In fact view was a brick wall. Very slow service - waited forever for drinks. Had to ask for water twice. One tapas order not fulfilled properly - ordered an extra meatball since we were 4 and the order was three - 4th meatball came late so one person had to wait. Air conditioner blowing freezing cold - had to put our coats on. Had to raise this and then air was turned off. This is the third time we’ve eaten there - will definitely not go back. Better places to go in Lohi.

Excellent and noticiable difference in service as El Five employs a team concept. Everyone was very knowledgeable about the menu and the food came out in a perfectly timed manner. Main server was great with recommendations for both food and wine. The food was incredible. We will definitely return.

We decided to expand our dining horizons so restaurant week is providing lots of restaurant names we did not know about, hence our visit to El Five. While we enjoyed certain aspects of this restaurant, atmosphere, view, service, the food we found disappointing. The 'appetizer' parts were good but the entree, mine, the pork loin from the restaurant week menu was not worth finishing (especially the pork) & the Baklava was a version I found VERY disappointing, not sweet but salty(?) my husband had the lamb dish from the regular menu & did not care for it & left a lot on his plate ( this from a man who is in the 'good eaters' club) I tried it also but didn't care for it either. All in all it was not an unpleasant evening (at least the noise level wasn't horrible) but our quest for excellent food in Denver continues.

We loved the Restaurant Week Menu and all ordered from that. Everything we had was outstanding. Also had great and creative cocktails and a fabulous Italian red wine. The service is outstanding and the setting is so lovely and unique. We will be back in the summer to enjoy the view and try to grab an outside table.

Everything is outstanding and top class. The food is incredibly delicious. The ambiance is so comforting, classy, and has a great view of the city. The service is fantastic, where the staff and management makes you feel like a truly valued guest. We thoroughly enjoyed everything.
