   We are locals in Santa Ynez and this was the first time we dined at Ellie’s. We will be back! Great service, delicious food and wonderful ambiance! My husband had the crab cakes, I had the beef stroganoff and warm apple salad. He is very particular about crab cakes and he highly recommends!!

   Was so looking forward to dining here. Had heard so many good things. Was disappointed that we got put on a tiny high top table in the furthest back corner of the restaurant. It was difficult to get in to the seat and I jumped the person on table next to me getting in and they did the same to me going out. The table was tiny and barely fit drinks and bread basket. Service was extremely slow for entree. The entrees were good and something I would likely order again but salad and dessert just ok. It was restaurant week so for $30 for a 3 course the did a good job with the menu but feel they were too busy to manage. Dishes took a long time to be cleared. In fact they brought entree before clearing salad dishes and I had to exchange mh dirty salad plate for the entree plate because otherwise they would not have been able to place. Would I go back? On the fence.

   First night of Restaurant Week(s). My staff did the BEST they could do with the amount of guests that dined with us that night. They worked really hard but we do understand that you were uncomfortable and that you had to wait a bit. We do our best to deliver the best and sometimes we miss. We are never on the fence when it comes to giving it our all but sometimes we fall a little short. If it was your first time dining with us, then you should definitely return. Joy

   Yet another wonderful evening at Ellie’s. Food is always great. We had the pâté appetizer, the beef stroganoff and crab cake between the two of us. Such great flavors and taste. Joy is always so warm and so much care goes in to this restaurant. And it shows. You won’t regret visiting. Feels like home.

   Always a special treat to dine here. One of the best restaurants in the Valley. Just a matter of time before Joy gets her Michelin star. Menu constantly changes and everything is always delicious. Don’t miss the home made pate toast. Crab cakes are the best on the west coast. Bread pudding is best anywhere.

   Ellie's Tap and Vine exceeded all expectations! The short ribs were absolutely divine—so tender they practically melted in my mouth. The osso buco was a standout with its unique curry twist, adding just the right amount of flavorful kick. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxing, enjoyable meal. And whatever you do, don’t skip the apple crumble—it’s the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommend!

   Joy the owner/chef prepares every dish with love! The beef stroganoff , and the lobster Mac & cheese was outstanding. The Short Ribs on whipped potatoes was perfectly cooked, the meat fell off the bone. And the bread pudding with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream was to die for. We will come back on our next trip to Santa Ynez area.

   Joy and her team continue to knock the flavors out of the park! While I ALWAYS order the crab cake, and did again last evening, my friend chose the Osso Bucco with coconut, which was a new find for us, and the lentil soup, which we agreed was an outstanding version of a classic. Go and savor the flavors! The restaurant is cozy for the season. I was thrilled for Joy to see a nearly full house, too. Laurie
