Had the opportunity to enjoy a great lunch at this new restaurant, Sunday afternoon. The restaurant is located on top of the Ilikai Hotel. Parking was a breeze with valet parking. The restaurant is access by a private elevator in the lobby which has a glass front that allows you to have a unobstructed view of the ocean all the way to the top. The trip up is definitely a photo worthy time. Once we arrived at the top we were greeted promptly and taken to our table with a very impressive view overlooking Diamond head and the ocean. We were then greeted by our server Sarah who was very knowledgeable and helpful regarding the menu suggesting excellent choices. The service was impeccable and timely with all our requests met quickly. Sarah was very professional and very personal and spent time with us explaining the different options at the restaurant and making us feel as welcomed guests. Although we did not order wine with our meal we did peruse the wine list which was extensive and was quite interesting which we will definitely be ordering from on our next visit. I particularly like Italian reds in which they had a great selection of. Our food came out quickly and prepared perfectly. Are drinks were always refilled and care was taken in asking if we need anything else throughout our meal. We definitely enjoyed our experience at this restaurant and we'll be returning soon to indulge on their dinner menu. We found the prices to be in keeping with other restaurants and our selections were definitely worth the price. In all we were very happy with the service and the quality of the lunch and we are very happy that this restaurant is now here and we wish them success as they continue to grow in patronage in the Honolulu area. Again, thank you to Sarah she is an asset to this restaurant and we're very pleased that she was our server.

The steaks are incredible, tasty, tender and delicious, cooked perfectly! Service was very good and our waiter was a professional. The restaurant was very busy, probably could have used a little more help on our 6 top. Wine service was a bit slow since the first two bottles we chose were not available and it took over half an hour to get our bottle. However the wine list is priced very well, with a great selection at fair prices. We really enjoyed both bottles we chose. Overall, I would recommend Empire Steak House and since its still in the new opening phase, I'm sure these items will be streamlined. The most important segment of the meal is the quality of the steaks, the accuracy of cooking and they were served very hot......very important in a high quality steak house.

Ambiance and food were great! Staff & servers were super friendly, but they seemed overwhelmed being the first week of opening. Definitely worth the visit to one of Honolulu's classic locations!

Empire is new to the Island and I went on day 3 of the opening week. Started with the Grilled Octopus and the Caesar Salad. The Octopus is laid on a bed of spinach and was prepared by grilling, highly recommend this dish as a starter. Caesar Salad was average...I prefer the "table side preparation so I can request certain portions of the ingredient that I like. The main course consisted of the Prime New York Strip Steak and was perfectly cooked to my desired Medium Rare request and very tender and tasty. The Fresh catch of the day was the Chilean Sea Bass and was excellently cooked as it flaked apart with the fork, I added an order two side dishes, the Sauteed Asparagus and the Mashed potatoes to share. (The potatoes should be include with the entrees) as there was nothing special about this side. Paired the meal with a 2018 bottle of Pinot Noir which complemented the meal very well, I will be back in a few weeks to give the restaurant time to grow! Recommend you give it a try!

Waited awhile before our server came to us. Server was great. No sommelier so they took quite a bit to look for our wine. If you’re going to charge $100-$450 for a piece of steak you should have a sommelier ready on hand. I waved down what might’ve been a manager but he never came to us. He just waved back motioning to wait and went to someone else to get us some help. The right thing to do being that it was so empty and not even busy is to have come to our table which was a few steps away and ask what we needed. Don’t wave back to me telling me to wait and then go tell another person who was further away to come and help us. If you’re trying to make a good impression on opening week you did not do a good job. The NY steak came already cut up and not whole. I don’t know why they did that we never asked for it to be sliced for sharing. Everyone on the table ordered a steak and everyone else’s came out whole. Our steaks were good done well. Food quality and taste was great! Server was nice enough to take a desert off the bill bc of the mix up in the kitchen. Went there at 6 and didn’t finish until 9:00. It was empty except for a few tables near the window. Overall for the price of the steaks I would rather go eat at Hy’s any day. It’s was really overpriced and the food took awhile to come out. Honestly wouldn’t go back.

For a restaurant of this caliber it was way way off. I think they really needed a soft opening. Where would I start. Butter served in the little tinfoil instead of on a chilled plate. Menu not in a hard cover. It was more like an insert. Lobster served chewy. Steak temp was cold but cooked correct to medium. Baked potato x2 were cold. This was after sending back the first one. Coke served with shopped ice instead of cubed. It was just not polished as it should be for pricing this high. This being said. The caprese salad was absolutely perfect. Seafood pasta was decent. Overall just not worth a return visit at this level.

Love this location and the view! Live pianist added to the atmosphere. All went well for their first night open. Not without a few glitches (to be expected on Day 1), but they made up for it by the end of the meal.
