Overall, our mains were a little below the standard we were expecting. The rice was not warm enough. The first courses were excellent though

We were so looking forward to eating here. To be honest, it didn’t wow us. We ordered from the à la carte menu and was the starters were nice. The chicken tikka masala was very underwhelming. There wasn’t a lot choice of rice so we had the lemon. Which was quite hot we wasn’t expecting that. For an Indian meal it was very expensive and whilst we don’t mind paying good money for good food we didn’t think this was worth it. A lunchtime meal for £172 you expect more we won’t be going back.

Expensive , food disappointing, the main course was over cooked , chewy and warm. The service was good though we felt rushed. We’ve been twice now and both times disappointed . We won’t go back .

We had an amazing New Year’s Eve at Essence. Everything was just as it should be. Great food and drink, excellent service and a really lovely atmosphere. The disco was an unexpected but welcomed extra and we danced into 2025, pausing briefly to watch the fireworks on the Pantiles.

Our second time of visiting Essence in Tunbridge Wells and as before the food was amazing. We went on New Years Eve and the restaurant was beautifully decorated with a very festive atmosphere. Live music was very welcome too. We were a little disappointed with the service it seemed very slow but we put it down to it being New Year’s Eve. We will certainly be back.
