Easter Brunch at The Biltmore Fairways – A Disappointing Miss on Hospitality As a longtime admirer of The Biltmore and someone who appreciates thoughtful service and classic brunch fare, I was genuinely looking forward to my Easter brunch experience at Fairways. I had one dish in mind: the Fairways Eggs Benedict—poached organic eggs, Canadian bacon, black truffle hollandaise on an English muffin, with breakfast potatoes. It’s a signature offering, and I was excited. Unfortunately, we were seated 15 minutes after breakfast service ended. While I fully understand the importance of sticking to kitchen schedules, I politely asked the manager, Osvaldo, if an exception could be made. He assured me he would speak with the chef—then never returned to our table with a follow-up. That silence spoke volumes. Fortunately, our server Ricardo stepped in. High marks to him for professionalism and kindness—he apologized for the manager’s poor communication and explained that the kitchen wouldn’t accommodate the request. Here’s the rub: every ingredient required for the Eggs Benedict (save the black truffle hollandaise) was available on their all-day menu in The Biltmore Breakfast. The restaurant wasn’t busy. Was making hollandaise really too tall an order? The food and drinks we did enjoy were well-prepared, and the atmosphere of Fairways is as charming as ever. But the lack of follow-through and rigidity from management and the kitchen left a sour note on what should have been a celebratory meal. Hospitality is about more than just food—it’s about effort, empathy, and the small touches that create memorable experiences. On this occasion, Fairways fell short.

Today the service was not up to the usual standard I’m used to at Fairways. One entree was incorrect and had to be returned. The replacement entree was also incorrect but we didn’t want to return and wait again. Overall the wait staff was not as attentive as usual. Disappointed in the service today.

Had the Baja Fish Tacos and they were delicious with some tasty heat. The staff were attentive, professional and very pleasant. Sit outside whenever you can.

Overall a disappointing experience. Service was slow, food arrived well before the drinks or even water. The food was only ok & a price tag of $125 for a light lunch was excessive. The Biltmore is apparently figuring that the venue makes up for inadequacy of the food and service. As a side note, the parking lot is atrocious. Vehicles are parked into any space someone can shoehorn a car. My advice is - dine elsewhere.

Fairways needs supervision from someone. Service is beyond slow; it’s nonexistent. Food bland. Four underfed and sad looking shrimp. Mediterranean Plate without plates. Three times servers promised plates and more pita and were no shows so had to find a manager. Beautiful setting overlooking the golf course. Will be great once someone supervises the restaurant.

You can't beat the view at sunset over the greens. Food was very good. Where it fell short was the service. The server would disappear, but others who came after us were being attended to and food was delivered to the table in a much timelier manor.
