   Food overall is good. Not worth the price but good and some dishes are better than others. Ambiance is bad especially if you sit outside- decor is cheap for a restaurant of this caliber. But the most egregious part... Service here is HORRIBLE. I am actually in shock at how bad the service is... I haven't experienced service like this in all my years living in LA. So unfriendly... They hardly interact with you (and they surely don't give you any info or recommendations about the menu) and are so aggressive about every single thing. What bothered me the most: The literal nanosecond you put your fork down, they snatch your plate and utensils away from you. I actually had to tell them multiple times that I was still clearly working on my food... when you see food in my plate and I'm still holding my fork, why on earth would you ask me if I was finished? Ugh. So entitled and clueless. AVOID.

   I can’t believe we never been to Felix before tonight the food the service. The ambiance was all wonderful. Loved it will be back.

   At this price point, I tend to judge what’s plated by experience elsewhere and my own ability to craft similar on par meals. At this price point I tend to expect more in terms of mouth feel and flavor chemistry - how it comes together. In fairness, I dined solo so I was limited in what I could sample due to the family-sized portions. Meatballs - elegant, flavorful with the mortadella adding a flavor element to the final product. Very tasty and paired with a silky, green, pesto. Flatbread(pizza). I had the Diavola. As expected. Assuming OO flour, adding that crisp yet chewy crust texture. Nothing remarkable. Just good as far as similar flatbread offerings are elsewhere whether Gjelina, A16, etc. The Tagliatelle: At $46 I was expecting a mouth bomb - something astounding. It was a dud. I can make that better at home with handcut noodles and a all day prep on the sauce. It was ok, but it was missing something - it felt flat. I’m comparing it to what I recall from Mark Ladner and Battali at Lupa 20 years ago where I still don’t find many equals or Villa Miranda in Chianti, where in each case, the pasta options were incredible…at $20-25/serving and shareable. I’ll come back because there are so many other options and I’m sure this was an anomaly. Entree next time!

   Food was incredible as always. Service not so much. Somm acted snooty when we gave a lower price point we were looking in, celebrating two birthdays and brought two desserts that they charged us for…nothing horrible just at the price point and for a Venice spot, you’d expect a better vibe from the people.

   Cacio e Pepe could have been cooked longer. Service was wonderful. Appreciate the special treatment on anniversary. Best “ice cream ever” apparently.
