   Never a bad time here. An absolute go to for great consistent quality and great service. This is a popular spot, so make a rezzie, ideally well in advance. I chose quiet because we sat outside. Inside can be a bit more noisy. I'll keep returning.

   Fete has and continues to be one of our favorite places to eat at. We love the food there. My other half always gets the grilled cheese sandwich. It’s totally on another level.

   We have dined at Fête a handful of times and the food and service have always been outstanding! Definitely recommend dining inside as the hustle and bustle of Chinatown don’t always mesh well with an intimate dining experience.

   Tables are very small, and close together - it’s cramped. The cement floor and high ceilings make for a noisy venue - we could barely hear one another, so it dropped in stars. Food was ok, though smaller portions and higher prices than 1 year ago.

   We were very excited to try Fete given the local “buzz” and James Beard recognition, but unfortunately our overall experience was disappointing. On arrival we were told that our resv was for outdoor seating only. Don’t recall seeing an option for indoor vs outdoor dining when we booked online as we never would have intentionally booked an outdoor table on a sidewalk on Hotel St, but whatever - apparently my fault for not adequately deciphering the resv system. The hostess would not seat us anywhere else despite multiple tables still being available when we eventually departed. We were seated at a table in front of the doorway, despite nearly all tables being available due to our early resv time. The sidewalk experience was as expected - very poor due to constant bus traffic blowing by, related noise from traffic, and multiple uncomfortable situations with Honolulu’s ever-present homeless population. The positives were that the service staff (hostess excepted) were very cordial and knowledgeable, the plate presentations were excellent and the food was generally very tasty. Prices were also generally reasonable by HI standards. In addition to the seating/ambiance, negatives included flat tonic in my wife’s cocktail and her mahi entree was virtually raw (not necessarily a problem for us with ahi or other sashimi-quality fish but definitely not what she ordered or expected from cooked mahi-mahi). We also felt the menu itself was surprisingly limited with respect to dinner entree options and dessert variety (mostly ice cream). Conversely, the wine list was a disconnect - extensive and expensive, but with very few domestic options despite our proximity to the west coast. Unfortunately, while I really wanted to love Fete, there were too many poor factors/experience misses for us to recommend the restaurant given how many great options there are in Honolulu.

    We had a wonderful time at Fete! The food was absolutely amazing and Chris was an excellent waiter.
