The Christmas pop-up bar was a huge disappointment this year. This was one of my favorite holiday activities we did in prior years, but it’s completely different this year. The staff were short and rude, prices were up about 50%, so everything was terribly overpriced, and the quality of food and drinks are both down from years’ past. Unfortunately, I think this may have been our last year attending this fun tradition.

We made reservations for The Christmas Parlor. Mattie (hostess) was so nice to direct us where we needed to go to wait. Brian (hostess) was incredible. He took us through the experience. (door to get in the Parlor) He took pictures for us. Our server was not personable. She seemed irritated with us. The food was so overpriced and didn’t taste good at all. Our server checked back once and when we asked if we could order dessert, she said, “Sorry, last call for the kitchen was a few minutes ago.” She never came back to ask us if we wanted dessert or to tell us the kitchen was closing. (It was 8:30pm) She didn’t ask if we wanted separate checks, just assumed and put it all on one. When we asked her to split it up, she was bugged. We gave her out cards and she charged the wrong cards for the tickets. I was really looking forward to this with my adult kiddos. We were all disappointed. It was a lot of money for an experience that wasn’t good at all. I wouldn’t go again.

The entire Christmas Parlor was fun and definitely an unique experience that every one should attend at least once, but it was the staff that truly made the magic happen! Kudos to Brian, Maddie and Mary and all the other employees that we had the pleasure to meet!

Mostly writing this to say Flanker, please give the Christmas Parlor more staff. The Christmas Parlor looked so good. The decorations were next level, the speakeasy entrance was super cool, perfect Instagram-able evening. The mugs the drinks were served in were really cute as well and the drinks were great. The service was terrible but it was by no means the fault of the servers or hosts, they just did not dedicate nearly enough staff to run an event area that was completely booked up on a Saturday night in addition to their restaurant and club. We waited in line for almost 20 minutes despite having a reservation, partly because the host had to keep stopping to explain that it was reservation only to 4 out of 5 people in line. There wasn't any signage to that effect so people from the club side had no way of knowing this wasn't the usual back area bar they go to. Inside the parlor they had one bartender and one busser for 15 tables and 12 bar seats, most of which were full which is COMPLETELY unmanageable for one person. She was working her butt off and was still totally weeded. We had a 10:15pm reservation so we'd already had dinner, but the main reason we didn't get any food is that it was much more expensive than the regular restaurant for what you got and the table next to us tried one of everything and it mostly looked... not great. The smores looked awesome and really fun to make, but the charcuterie board looked worse than store-bought and the pizza looked really unappealing and very small. Definitely a fun after-dinner drinks type thing though with tons of good pictures to be taken which is what we went for, so I was overall pretty happy and would recommend it. I think they'd just had callouts or something causing the service issue, this was my first time at the Christmas Parlor but Flanker as a whole normally has great service.

We went for the Xmas parlor and while the atmosphere was great, the service left much to be desired. Took at least 15 minutes to get anything we ordered, including drinks and the card back after we paid. Food was fine, nothing to write home about which made the price of everything sting that much more. Two sliders and some fries should never be $20

The food was not all delivered at the same time. The fries were cold, the burgers were dry and salty. For 6 people the bill came to $250 and only 2 people drank something other than water. We went because it was advertised as the “Christmas Parlour.” Apart from the music there was nothing festive about the place. Even the wait staff didn’t look jolly. There was nothing festive or seasonal about the food. Everyone was very disappointed.
