About this restaurant

  • Charming
  • Great for outdoor dining
  • Dog-friendly
Nestled in the picturesque village of Lowonsford, on the banks of the Stratford Canal, between winding country roads that used to be part of the Forest of Arden, The Fleur De Lys is the very best kind of country pub. Packed full of quaint charm and quirky corners beneath its C16th wooden beams, The Fleur is a cosy haven in the winter and an extensive paradise in the summer. There are so many tiny wonders packed into this historic building that you will always find something new to fall in love with when you visit. Our garden boasts an acre of land to run riot on and a low level wooden children’s playground, alongside over 30 tables and benches. We’re ideally situated for walkers and ramblers who wish to explore the canal towpath or a variety of local walks. If you’re intending on zooming through this part of Warwickshire on a bicycle, The Fleur makes an excellent intermediary watering hole to fortify you for the ride ahead.

Nice main course, Steak & Stilton pie. Could maybe do more of a choice of starters, i.e Calamari, bruchetta etc. Nice ambience and friendly staff.

Excellent Sunday roast as usual. Best roast beef I’ve eaten in a while - cooked perfectly. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely evening at the Fleur. The food was delicious we both had one of the famous pies, I had the chicken and wild mushroom and my husband the steak and stilton. The food was hot and delicious including the extra jug of gravy. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent food served with a smile and served quickly considering it was cooked on the premises after orders were placed. My personal highlight? - ALL of the food was piping hot. Would recommend to others and will visit again. My 'out-of-town' guests were delighted.

Disappointing! Used to come here regularly when I lived in the area until a few years ago. Was looking forward to coming back but the wait times at every stage were too long, two meals were cold when they arrived and the other meal had unidentifiable small, fried/burnt bits on the plate that clearly weren’t part of the meal. When raised with a waitress, we received a stroppy teenage response (think Kevin from Harry Enfield) so I told her not to worry about it as we were clearly inconveniencing her but I got a load more attitude in response. I spoke to the manager who was very apologetic and offered us all something different but we decided to leave instead. Shame because the setting is lovely and I know it has been top notch in the past. At £20/roast, I won’t risk returning. I’ve never refused to pay for a meal or complained about poor service in the past but today I felt it necessary.
