The location of Founding Farms is unable to accommodate my son, who has a seafood allergy. Anyone with a food allergy should avoid any risk of cross-contamination. The manager informed me and my son that due to the severity of his allergy, they would not be able to serve us today. I was extremely disappointed and upset. I cannot understand how everything on the menu is cross-contaminated with seafood. There could have been a way to address our concerns without making my son feel like a burden because of his allergy. As a result, my son left feeling very disappointed and sad. Happy New Year! This was supposed to be a traditional last meal of the year for us—unfortunately, not this year!

Founding Farmers was a BIG disappointment. Service was spotty at best. .There was no hostess at the entrance, we waited 5 minutes for someone to greet us. The menu is promising, but the waiter was overwhelmed, took a cocktail order and finally returned 20 minutes later to take our order, telling us that any number of menu items were "sold out" when we tried to order pot roast, lamb chops and a caesar salad. When our food arrived, my son's basic spaghetti with butter and parmesan was cold and congealed. It took another 15 minutes to have it replaced. My fried chicken was soggy outside, barely warm and dry inside, and the grits were lumpy and not so flavorful. They comped my son's spaghetti and our desserts, but the service recovery was underwhelming. In a city with literally hundreds of great dining experiences, I would never go back to Founding Farmers.

May have been an off night. Noise may have been a factor too. Not a fan. Understanding of gluten free was non existent, can't really believe they get any training on it as claimed. Service was slow, food was ok at best, drinks were very sweet which was surprising being attached to a distillery. At close to a 300 dollar dinner, there was no redeeming quality that would make me believe going back would be any better another time. 9 and 6 year old were unimpressed with 28 dollar steak and fries in quality, taste and portion size. Was attracted by positive reviews online but, definitely not our experience tonight. DC can be expensive but, it should at least be good if I am going to overpay. Much better places to eat for 1/2 to 1/3 of the price. Disappointing overall, but at least we had a couod laugh as we left. Waste of money would have been have felt much worse without that. Grateful to be at a place in life where we can laugh it off and learn a lesson. Would have been furious a few years ago.

Ugh! This place is so filthy. We went for Sunday brunch. My family and I had the buffet. Barely any food was available. Long lines for meats. The waitress spilled an entire pitcher of water on the table, which okay happens. She stood there like a deer in headlights and did not even move. The napkin she used to wipe the water off the carpeted floor was the same napkin she used to wipe water off the table. Food took FOREVER to be replaced. The utensils were sticky. The service was terrible. Parking is pure hell. We parked in the public garage. No signage in the garage lets patrons know they need to use their parking ticket to access the locked door off the street. We just happened to have our ticket with us. The ticket still didn’t work. We had to walk down the garage ramp with small children hoping a car was not trying to exit. When we walked past the pay station, there was a line of cars trying to exit. The gate was not operating properly. People had to get out of their cars to find a pay station to exit the public parking garage. Over a $160 for a miserable experience.

The service was great. The food, well, left a little bit to be desired. The filling in the vanilla French toast was flavorless, the hashbrowns were hard, and the portion was skimpy, and it was just a disappointing experience.
