Our award-winning Founding Farmers DC flagship restaurant opened in 2008 just three blocks west of the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue. Open 365 days a year, our team is passionate about crafting dishes and drinks from scratch with high-quality ingredients from farmers and suppliers we know and trust.

Join us for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, weekday happy hour, and a la carte weekend brunch.

Majority owned by American family farmers, including the more than 50,000 farmers of the North Dakota Farmers Union, our restaurant is guided by a very simple principal: we see and share everything Through The Eyes Of The Farmer.™ We actively care about our guests, our communities, the planet, and the next generation. This all comes together in our everyday neighborhood restaurant.

Loved the food and drinks (wine and margarita) Our waitress ‘Emily’ was great, smiles, and attentive to our needs and requests. The only con was that we ordered an espresso and unfortunately watered down coffee was served. Emily shared after that the machine had not been working properly. Other than that everything was great. Breaded Chicken dish, spareribs dish, and hamburger w/Fries.

We had a party of seven with three children. Our reservation was made well in advance and confirmed. We arrived on time, and waited a short time for our table. The table where we were seated (a corner booth) was not suitable for our party. Service was very slow, particularly for a party with children. Our reservation was at 6:00 and we did not finish our meal until 9:00 pm. Compared to other visits to Founding Farmers, the food was not great. The bill was $400+ and the younger children only ate Mac and Cheese. Will not visit this location again.

Restaurant was freezing cold (at our table), waited over 10 minutes even with a reservation, service was extremely slow, waiter forgot some items, and food was not as good as usual. Disappointed as FF is usually better.
Founding Farmers DC: Foggy BottomResponded 6 days ago
Hi Stuart. I am really sorry to hear about your experience. That’s certainly not the standard we aim to provide. I can understand how frustrating it must have been with the cold, slow service, and missed items. Please know that we appreciate your feedback, and I’ll be sure to pass it along to the team so we can improve moving forward. We hope you'll give us another chance to provide you with the excellent experience you’ve come to expect from us. -Najjah

They forgot my cornbread, then brought me a piece that had obviously been in the fridge. They over corrected and brought the next piece so hot that I had to let it sit for a while. Entrees were french dip sandwich, Cracker shrimp and chicken and waffles. All the entrees were great except for the cornbread problems. Got devils food cake with ice cream for dessert that was a disappointment. The cake was dry. I would go back. I think my expectations were too high.
Founding Farmers DC: Foggy BottomResponded 6 days ago
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, Jillian. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the entrees, but we’re truly sorry for the issues with the cornbread and dessert. We strive to provide the best possible experience for our guests, and it seems we fell short this time. Your feedback is helpful, and we'll address the concerns you've raised with our kitchen team. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you back for a better experience! -Kerry

Breakfast was so good that we went there twice during our three day trip to DC! The food was so fresh and the service was great. The menu is full of unique breakfast items with ingredients that amazingly work well together. This choice for breakfast was a grand slam!

What an amazing establishment. Our waiter Curtis was tremendous and very helpful. They have whatever you want from soups, salads, sandwiches, pasta, fish, steak, and chicken. Everything we ordered was great. Drinks were perfect. There house special “The Constitution” was fantastic. I’m not a local but wish I was!

Always a must visit when in DC. Had never eaten here for any meal other than brunch. We were very impressed by the food for supper!! The Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup hit the spot on a snowy day in DC!! The trio of dips and chips for an APP was delicious!! The pimento cheese in that trip AHHMAZING!! Our server was incredible, I am sorry i don't remember his name but we ate on 1/19/25 against the window. My mom and I were sitting on the booth side and my Dad was on a chair. Behind us was the window to the outdoor dining area. For desserts we got a box of chocolate candies and an apple pie and two snicker doodle cookies (they were out of chocolate chip sadly). Would suggest to everyone.
