Thanksgiving dinner was a huge disappointment. Had to wait over 40 minutes for first course. All the food was cold (even espresso that I ordered at the end, had to send it back). Turkey was bland and little gravy on the plates. Most of the desserts were out. My first time at the Tysons Founding Farmers. Been to the Pennsylvania Avenue DC Founding Farmers and Georgetown Farmers Fishers and Bakers multiple times and expecting same standard and quality at Tysons. Let down!

This was my family’s first time at Founding Farmers. The restaurant was very clean and the ambiance was nice. Unfortunately it appeared as if there wasn’t enough staffing for Thanksgiving dinner and our waiter took a while to bring us our food, our drinks (actually completely forgot my sons drink) and eating utensils for our dessert. The food was good but there were noticeable items missing from our plates that were promised when we made the reservation online and on the Thanksgiving menu. For example, cornbread stuffing was promised and we never received..we were also supposed to get a medley of mixed vegetables and we only received Brussels sprouts. There were also supposed to be many different types of desserts offered all of which the restaurant was out of when we finished our meal. The waiter told us to just “pick one” as it was part of the price we paid for the meal. However, our choices had dwindled to either key lime pie or apple pie and neither of which we were interested in. (Original choices included coconut crème pie, pumpkin pie, sorbet, choc cream pie, and multiple types of cheesecake) Overall, I would rate the experience as 3 out of 5 stars.

Sweet potato was hard!! Let them know in the kitchen. Waiter was very rushed and seemed impatient. Asked for a flavored mojito. He told me they cant do that.... though I saw lots of juices and flavors on the list. No problem... i don't bother ordering a drink. Not the best experience. Ordered apple pie warm with ice cream. I get cool apple pie with strawberry ice cream? Is ask where the vanilla ice cream is? He says they ran out and so they plopped strawberry on the plate. Who eats apple pie with strawberry ice cream?? I wasn't even asked or told. I could have ordered something else.

We usually spend Thanksgiving at Founding Farmers and have not had a bad time. This time was just horrible I don’t think we will be back next year. We waited 15 minutes beyond our reservation, waited almost 15 min to get served which was our server almost throwing the plate of biscuits down before running off. We had no drinks. She finally came back and took our orders. We still had no drinks— just water— when the appetizer arrived and she put down salad instead of soup for someone in our party. When we flagged her for water she said “I haven’t left the floor yet”— understand it’s busy but we had almost been there 25 minutes and no drinks! Finally a manager brought us water. Our food took a long time to arrive, we were barely checked on, and while all this was happening multiple people were seated after us and were getting their things immediately.

Our family always enjoys our meals. Nice variety and dishes that I can't make as well at home. Cocktails and beer hit the mark The andouille shrimp and grits, seared scallops over butternut risotto, pot roast. and chicken and waffles were all divine. Not a morsel of food was left on our plates. The appetizers of brie jammy onion bread, green tomatoes and biscuits kicked off our meal. This is a reliable casually elegant dinner spot

Service was great and food was good but onion rings came out cold. When you order a burger, the fries/onion rings should come really hot. In my opinion, when I order a burger, the fries/onion rings are just as important as the burger.

Thank you for your feedback, Derek! We're glad you enjoyed the service and food overall but apologize that the onion rings didn’t meet expectations. We’ll share your comments with our team to ensure a better experience next time. We hope to serve you again soon! -Najjah

Our server Aaron (spelling? ) was wonderful- attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and cared about each of my elderly father's needs which is not often found in restaurants these days. Food was very yummy, covered a wide variety of diets and preferences, and was warm/quickly served. Only slowdown was at dessert course, but it was at the end of the night right before closing time. We would go back again and again as well as recommend for anyone looking for good food at good price in a lovely atmosphere.

Thank you for such a thoughtful review, Megan! We're delighted Aaron made your visit special and that you enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We appreciate your understanding about the dessert timing and can’t wait to welcome you and your family back again! -Najjah
