Fraiche (French for Fresh) is a fresh take on culinary fusion with inspiration from multiple cultures (including French, Cajun/Southern American, and Caribbean). This is also a fresh take on the historic architecture of the venue, which was once a theater.

Fraiche is designed to be a non-pretentious culinary destination with a nod to upscale dining without the stuffiness. The menu is constructed in a way that takes approachable and recognizable food and elevates it, with no flavor left behind!

Since the beginning of time, food has brought people together and that is our ultimate goal with this concept.

The dining experience and energy was pleasurable. waiters and staff were attentive. not a long wait for food. the food and drinks were exceptional, came out hot and seasoned. overall, very pleased with my total experience. the only note would be related to the music level. it was just a few levels too high.

The experience was very good overall. We were greeted warmly at the door and seated immediately. We asked for replacement silverware cause ours had some spots but a replacement set never came. The warehouse look of the restaurant wasn’t appealing and my chair kept sliding all over the floor. At the beginning, the service was pretty slow but once the food came, everything picked up. The food was delicious: we ordered the ribs and oxtail meatballs as starters (the meatballs arrived towards the end of dinner but was comped so we boxed them up. Unfortunately I left them smh). The branzino was great and refreshing. The charm city crab cakes were the closest thing to Baltimore crab cakes I’ve ever had outside of Baltimore. They were a little too salty and they weren’t jumbo lump (the menu says jumbo lump crab cakes). The salad that comes with the crab cakes is the best thing on the plate. The 5 cheese Mac was delicious and the cornbread was good (a little cakey and sweet but paired well with the saltiness of the crab cakes). Our server was really nice, along with everyone else that worked in the establishment. The music was a little too loud at the beginning. I’m not sure if the alcohol made us talk louder or if the volume decreased but the playlist was on point. Overall, great dining experience, needs a couple changes, but I would go back (especially for the oxtail meatballs we barely touched). P.S. Do Not get the Crem Brûle- it did not taste good at all. It was curdled on the inside but the brown sugar on the top was not cooked enough

I went to Fraîche last night and while the food was absolutely amazing, the overall experience had some ups and downs. Let’s start with the best part—the food. Every dish I tried was full of flavor, well-prepared, and clearly made with skill and care. LOVED the cajun mussels! The chef Mr Make It Happen himself was there, and while he seemed understandably tired, his passion for the food was evident and appreciated. However, the service left something to be desired. I did have a reservation for 2 to celebrate birthdays but of course the restaurant was super busy so we improvised and sat at the bar, which we didn’t mind at all. But we felt a bit overlooked at the bar, which put a slight damper on the experience. Just lacking attentiveness overall. That being said, I’d definitely come back—just at an earlier time to hopefully catch the team at their best. The food alone makes it worth another visit! And I love the vibe! ⭐ Rating: 4/5 (Food: 5/5, Service: 3/5)

It's not bad, but I'm not sure if I’d go again. It was not busy, but the service was very slow. I sat, and no one came to take my drink order until I flagged someone down. Once I changed my seat, my server was very good. The potatoes were a bit runny and had one chunk of potato.

Went to Fraiche for my birthday and the food was amazing!!! The oxtail balls, the Mac n cheese, the wings, the lamb chops, the garlic mash, the crab soup …everything was great! Yes, I was eating everyone’s food! lol but the staff were friendly and service was fast! Parking is rough, but that’s the nature of DC! I’m definitely going to return. Thanks Fraiche for giving me a good birthday 🥰

The food was good. This is really a creole/southern place. I think for the prices, it should be a little more elevated. We also ordered drinks and the timing and speed of those came so that the first order came after we had finished our appetizers and the second came after we had finished our meals.

Server was very nice and professional. Food was delish. We had the crab cakes, branzino, truffle fries & broccolini & everything was so good! The bread pudding was approved by my daughter (who warmed it up the next day & her words exactly, “this is how bread pudding should taste!”Additionally, my friend enjoyed his sangria which wasn’t on the menu but the bartender was still able to make.
