Free Range Kitchen is the creation of owners Steve & Robin Humble who have been immersed in the Roaring Fork Valley's restaurant scene for 30 years.

We strive to create a menu that offers seasonal, innovative comfort food. We use responsibly farmed, freshly harvested ingredients without hormones or antibiotics, supporting the local Colorado farming and ranching communities. We use local ingredients, whenever possible.

Our goal is to create a BEAUTIFUL, FUN, WELCOMING restaurant & bar with WARM, FRIENDLY service, & a GREAT VIBE alongside the river, in Historic Downtown Basalt. With boutique global wine offerings, hand selected by Steve and a wide selection of regional craft beers and specialty cocktails using artisanal spirits and house-made infusions.

The Town of Basalt is back with the Basalt River Jams Wednesday Night Concert Series. Come enjoy dinner on our patio overlooking the park while experiencing local Colorado live music. We will be offering two seatings for the concerts. One from 5:15/ 5:30 - 7:00pm and the other from 7:00/ 7:15 to close to allow guests to enjoy either the opener or headliner from our space. Seating times will be strictly enforced, and our regular menu will be fully available. We look forward to your joining us for this wonderful community event!

Free Range Kitchen is delightful in every way! The friendly atmosphere, excellent service , mountain modern vibe. The food never disappoints. Salmon, redfish, halibut , steak always delicious. The green curry is our vegetarian daughter's favorite meal! We loved the short rib tacos . The chef prepares a taco of the day and when they serve the shrimp tacos I have to do a happy dance! If you're dropping in for apps .. the charcuterie boards are fresh, hearty and a treat for all. Kids go crazy about the pretzel bites with cheese and ground mustard dips . Oh I want to go back this very minute

We were looking for a special place to celebrate a birthday. One of our people was a vegan, and the menu was very accommodating for all. So many good and healthy options and amazing service.

We absolutely adore this restaurant and the staff that works there! The Hamachi Crudo special was to die for last night and the wine options are superb! It was a little too loud last night but usually they have a musician playing at a very reasonable volume and the noise level is usually wonderful - bring the music back! Thanks for being awesome!!!

Would absolutely go back and overall had an incredible meal - all dishes were really good, the smashburger was fantastic, and the skillet chocolate chip cookie was a wonderful ending to the meal. Menu items were thoughtful and priced well. The only complaint I have was the service was extraordinary slow. We waited almost 15 minutes once sat for anyone to even greet us or take a drink order. We waited again quite a long time for our food. Our server was extremely warm and nice, but they just seemed overwhelmed. That said, we would certainly go back in the future and hope for better service.

Free Range Kitchen has consistently delicious food and wonderful drinks. The atmosphere is fun and the service is excellent. I prefer it to the pricey restaurants in Aspen!
