Welcome to our Home, Gallagher’s Boxty House.

A family owned restaurant that celebrates Traditional Irish Cuisine and Culture with a Modern twist.

We were proudly making Boxty for the last 36 years in the heart of Dublin's Cultural quarters, Temple Bar.

The Boxty recipes date back to 17th-18th century Ireland. Award winning chef Padraic Óg Gallagher reimagined the dishes and confidently recreated these classics in a 21st century setting without forgetting our humble past.

                                                                        Excellent - visited Valentines evening in our visit to Dublin with friends. The food was outstanding and the service fantastic - just spot on! The waitress was lovely and friendly and food arrived in a timely manner. Can recommend.

                                                                        Ooggie as very helpful, friendly, and personable, and knowledgeable of the menu. The food was yummy and a taste of home (our mammy makes boxty). We had Gaelic Boxty, Corned Beef Boxty, shared Boxty fries and, for dessert, the almond butter boxty cake. So many different ways to eat boxty and all absolutely delicious. A real treat. I would recommend it.

                                                                        I'm not sure if we were here on an off night, but our experience wasn't good. The chicken boxty was poor. The boxty was tough and dense. The chicken was pale and overcooked. Very chewy with no flavor. The sauce ( ordered on the side) was good. If the entire dish was covered in sauce, that would not have saved it. The bread plate was dense and cold.

We're sorry that the chicken boxty wasn't what you were expecting (we checked the photo on YELP and it does look bad) and the bread didn't taste fresh (even though it is freshly baked everyday).                                                                         This restaurant was a highlight for our family 8 years ago when we were in Dublin. It was wonderful to come back and have another memorable meal. Our server was exceptional and the food was excellent. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this spot. Please don’t let its touristy location in Temple Bet discourage you from dining here. It is a gem of a restaurant and the hospitality and food are truly authentic. I look forward to returning!
