   Huge letdown, through and through. No ambiance at all. Menu was extremely limited and uninspired. Service was purely transactional. They knew it was our anniversary but made absolutely no effort to make it anything but a boring meal. So, except for being with my lovely wife of ten years, it was forgetful. My mistake for choosing the place but the reviews misled me and I underestimated the generally drab reality of Jackson Hole steakhouses. This was our first time here. Live and learn.

   Gather is consistently one of my favorite spots in Jackson Hole. I made a dinner reservation weeks in advance for 6:30 PM, but we were running early. I called and had a little fun with the host, and she was kind enough to accommodate us at 5:45. Our waiter Alvero was excellent, very attentive and thoughtful throughout the meal. As a vegan, I was happy to find great options. I shared the winter squash salad and had the vegan Yaki Udon as my main course. Both dishes were delicious and very satisfying. This was my second time dining at Gather, and both visits have been outstanding. Great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend.

   Our evening dining experience was a real treat. Our waiter took excellent care of us. Our entrees were all delicious including the complimentary dessert for our 50th wedding anniversary. I definitely recommend this restaurant! I also recommend making a reservation so you don’t miss this gem!

   We started with the buns, they were okay but nothing special. I had the Lexington BBQ Shrimp , the sauce tasted very good but was shocked at the size of the shrimp. My dish was $32. so why do you served tiny bay shrimp? Did they run out? I was expecting large beautiful barbecued shrimp. It was unacceptable. The manager came over and removed it from my bill. If you’re going to serve tiny shrimp at an upscale restaurant for $32. the menu should state that.

   The menu listed 2 kinds of shrimp, "sauteed" and "Lexington BBQ" as an add-on to a salad. I asked the waiter if the Sauteed shrimp had any stuff on it, and he said no. When it arrived the shrimp was covered with red stuff. I sent it back. The salad came back. It was fresh and tasty but needed more dressing. The (manager? Hostess?) brought me some more. She said there would be no charge for the salad, due to the shrimp being unsatisfactory. On my receipt that you emailed me there was a $22 charge for the salad AND the shrimp. This is annoying. However, as I had used your "in Kind" deal, I guess I came out OK (??? not really). Next time we visit i will check the totals before I pay.

    We sat at the bar, and cold air rushed in every time the door opened - bad choice on our part. The salads were delicious, the French fries a little too limp, the by-the- glass wine list uninspiring, but our entrees were tasty. The service was excellent and attentive without being interruptive. It’s very convenient to the Center for the Arts which is good.
