Gorgeous pub, staff lovely. Only criticism is the lunch menu. Be nice to have some low carb options , nice salads. Sunday lunch is the best

The roast dinner was excellent and the service matched this too. They were very busy but the good came out very promptly and hot too. The desserts were of an equal high standard too - we both had sticky toffee pudding which was very yummy. We will definitely return soon to the George and I strongly recommend it to all readers of this comment - you will not be disappointed. Well done to the staff that served my wife and I today

Had a lovely dinner at The George. We often visit for a drink after a walk, but decided to eat here, as it’s always busy and tables reserved so must be good food. And food was very tasty and good selection on a Sunday not just roasts I really like the choices of where to sit, the main pub with wood burners, the conservatory and lovely big garden area. Service was lovely and friendly, we were very looked after. Booking was easy to do online We will be back

We discovered “the George” 6 months ago and have enjoyed both the ambience and food, however today’s experience was very VERY disappointing. We ordered fish and chips, which when delivered had excessive amounts of very crunchy batter on the fish and very little fish when you cut into it. We have recently had some disappointing meals but decided to give the restaurant one more go, sadly we will not be returning.
