Gjelina is a restaurant that serves locally-sourced, produce-forward food with menus guided by conversations and long-standing relationships with farmers, local ranchers, fishermen, and co-ops. Our first location Gjelina LA in Venice Beach opened in 2008 becoming a staple in the local community. We are currently open for breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner services.

      Lamb stew and duck were extremely salty. The cabbage was good, the chicory salad had already wilted by the time it hit the table. The chickpea pasta was overcooked. Sloppy service. I don’t think they believe in providing serving utensils or changing plates with courses. We ate the duck on a plate that was swimming in the lamb juices as these dishes came 10 minutes apart with no plate change. Oh and the wine by the glass pour is quite stingy. Get a bottle! Unfortunately, I had high expectations but it was a disappointment. I am going back again in February to give it one more try before I give up on them as they are relatively new.

      The spinach salad was popping! The meat mains were so salty (too much!) though! The inconsistency was a wild ride.

      loved loved loved everything about Gjelina. we sat at the bar upstairs. service , food , wine list was all impeccable. affordable too.

      The food wasn’t noteworthy other than the pizza; we sat at the bar and our waiter was not friendly and pushy.

      Kinks to work out in their dinner service. Lots of staff milling about, but no real organization to the service. Could have been good.

      We had an amazing first experience from front to back. The space is beautiful, the service was outstanding (shoutout to Dominque & Phil!), and food was as great as I remember from the Venice location. I can’t wait to go back!
