Felt very welcomed when me and my boyfriend arrived. We didn’t have to wait for our seats. All staff besides the waiter were helpful and friendly. Definitely a wonderful restaurant owned by Gordon Ramsay

I rarely write reviews. I have eaten in likely 1000 steakhouses around the world and live in Vancouver and dine at the other 2 or 3 steakhouses multiple times monthly. My business partner and I decided to come to Gordon Ramsey last night. I have never had such a terrible experience in a restaurant in my life. We came to the hostess stand with 3 hostesses, a female manager on the phone and an older male manager directly behind the hostesses. Nobody really picked there head up to say hello or welcome us other than one hostess. The restaurant was almost empty with only 3 or 4 tables. We waited 5 minutes for the hostess to seat us. Once seated , we were placed directly beside the busy bussing station which was odd given the restaurant was empty. The waiter or busboy never came to the table to provide a glass of water or greet us. After approx. 10 minutes we flagged down the hostess who seated us and we asked if we could move to a booth in the corner, she said she needed to check and came back a couple minutes later to advise it was reserved. She didn't suggest an alternative at all. We asked if we could move to another empty quieter table in the middle of the restaurant , away from the bussing station- she told us to get up and go to the front and ask. As we walked back to the hostess stand we both decided this was distasteful the whole experience, the restaurant had no vibe, zero service or friendliness and we told the hostess we are leaving. We took an Uber downtown to a well known steakhouse which they know me very well, it was full, they said a nice hello to us both, sat us quickly, and overall we had a terrific dinner and experience. I have to believe Gordon Ramsey or his people did not come to Vancouver to train the management and staff with the basics as this restaurant is missing it on all front. I know we didnt even get to the food, (or water) but honestly I have never walked out of a restaurant in my life, this was a first.

Our server Tyler was the best! First time at the restaurant and it did not disappoint. Can’t wait to go back. Delicious food and excellent service. Beautiful restaurant, too.

Is it fair to rate a restaurant during a soft opening? If so, here it goes: the back of the house killed it; from the bread to the amazing wellington was perfect. The amuse-bouche was a bit cold for me, was really good for my wife, and I forgot as soon as I tasted the bread. It was quite entertaining to sit near the pass and hear all the training and teamwork going on. The front of the house has a way to go, however everyone was courteous and helpful. There were a few misses with coordination between staff members, some rearranging that maybe was unnecessary, some timing imperfections, but it's all good; we'll be back. Overall, good work to the team!

Food was exceptional. The porterhouse and the Japanese Wagyu were absolutely incredible, as well the lamb. Service was very attentive, although obviously working some very small bugs out before open. Strongly recommend

My experience at GR Steak was probably the best dining experience I've ever had. The Risotto was cooked to perfection and tasty. The Tomahawk steak, Heirloom Carrots and Potato puree was simply delicious. For dessert we had the Cheese cake and Chocolate Tart which were the perfect cap of our experience. The wine list is very impressive and my wife enjoyed a Scotch. Our server, Lucas, was very attentive to our every need. His knowledge of the menu and the intimate details of every dish truly showed his dedication to our evening. The ambiance is stunning down to every detail. We were very full and satisfied with our date and we cannot wait to go back.
