   We made a reservation for the beginning of brunch. When we got there we had to wait though they seated a number of walk ins ahead of us. The host was a little bit snippy. The floors were slimy so much so that the chairs slid. Our waitress did not take the time to explain the brunch line to us even after we indicated we had guests who had not been there. The food was greasy and/or burned. We got the wrong omelets twice and finally gave up trying to order. Very disappointed, we were celebrating a graduate and it wasn’t acknowledged by anyone despite it being on the reservation. Granite City needs a deep clean, and training for the staff. We used to love coming here but after this I don’t see going back.

   All of the food was good but cold. One person in our group didn’t get their food, the kitchen forgot.

   We made reservations to have dinner with family and friends to celebrate our daughter who graduated with her Master’s from MSUM. The food was excellent, our server was great and we had a wonderful time although a little loud but it was busy. One thing we would all agree on though for “needs improvement”would be the chairs, the material on the chairs is very slippery and so are the bottom of the chair legs on the floor. We fear that you will actually have someone fall when going to sit on one and get hurt.

   Our server, Emily G., was absolutely fantastic. She kept our glasses full (refilled my water several times and my son’s soda was always refreshed right away as well). She also kept the table clear of dirty dishes etc and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. When my 4yo started acting up a bit she brought him crayons and a coloring sheet without even being asked. The food this time was pretty disappointing. The eggs were overcooked, hash browns undercooked, and the slice of prime rib I was served was very very dry almost like jerky. I usually don’t mind paying that much for the meal as it’s typically excellent food quality, but today, Mother’s Day, that was just not the case.

   We enjoyed our Mother's Day experience at Granite City. We didn't have to wait to be seated because we had reservations. I Those that responded to my email, a huge thank you for working with me for our reservation. As usual the food was great. The servers, bless them all, for working on Mother's Day.     Our server was very Professional and attentive. Never had to ask or wait for anything. He was checking on us throughout our time. Will definitely be back next year to celebrate Mother’s Day!! We eat on a regular basis throughout the year and have never been disappointed. Thank you!!!!
