   We had a nice brunch. A lot of good food. It was a bit noisy, but there was a lot of people. The set up was different than the last time only one line instead of two which it made it go slower. Miss the scones they had. Overall, it was good.

   Our Server Jared did a great job… was polite & attentive. Food stations pinned against the kitchen wall allowing only one line instead of two so customer process slow & wait time longer than usual . Food stations & quality in some selections appeared a bit dried out & “aged”… other stations were empty i.e cinnamon rolls, egg hash, salad bowl etc. Omelette station best feature of Brunch. Understand higher volume Brunch causes challenges for food freshness & quality… however “Lawless” should work to improve! Will return again as overall value still worth going

   We loved the place as soon as we walked in! Greeted by a friendly host, our server was friendly and knew the menu well. My husband got the French dip which was amazing! I ordered the French onion soup and salad, Yummy and delicious. My son ordered a burger that was perfectly cooked but had an almost artificial smoke flavor in the seasoning. He ate about half and said the flavor overwhelmed him. I tried a bite, it was very strong. To be fair, the Manager did a walk by but we were enjoying everything else, so we didn't escalate. We would 100% go back.

   Sadly, we cannot recommend Granite City. There are simply too many other dining options that offer a better dining experience & consistent service. I don’t take the impact of online reviews lightly & this feedback comes from our experiences on multiple visits, to include 2 special occasion family meals with a group of 10+ (w/ reservation & notes prior to the meal). A poor experience 1 time? Maybe an off day. Four times? It’s just the way it is & one would be foolish to expect more at this point. Even when the food is good, the service is sub-par. We had the same server (who is considered to be one of their seasoned servers) both times we had a larger party. It’s not that he wasn’t capable of handling the group, he just didn’t seem to care. He wasn’t attentive with the basics when there weren’t any other patrons in his section. When the restaurant began to fill up, we were less likely to see him. The collective “attitude” amongst the staff - from the front desk host, to the seasoned servers, to the manager that walked the floor throughout service, but was selective on who he checked in on, Granite City isn’t the best place to spend your money, celebrate special occasions, or expect stellar service. It would be unfair if I failed to share positives. Not every aspect of the restaurant / offerings is negative. The Sunday brunch offerings were really well rounded. It was a very concise brunch buffet with regard to the quantity of offerings, but every offering was worth the space it took at the table. The service at the omelet station / carving station was wonderful. The attitude & service level of that one individual SHOULD be the standard for the entire staff. Not the exception. If you are okay with fending for yourself (for the most part), you would enjoy their brunch. Please know that they may or may not tell you what their brunch includes, so ask before you order & don’t take for granted what the online brunch descriptive eludes to include.

    We always bring a fairly large group to Granite city and I am always impressed by their ability to get us seated and also the excellent service and getting all of our food out promptly.
