   Have used Greendale many times over the past couple of years, today was disappointing. The attention by the waiting staff was excellent as usual. However the food was not to its usual standard. We had scrambled eggs on toast. According to the menu three eggs would be used per portion. It was clear that this was not the case. At best it was two eggs per portion. I work in the industry and I know the difference between a two and three portion of scrambled eggs. It might just be one meal, but that one meal sadly taints the memory of all the other excellent meals.

   We had to wait for around an hour for food when it arrived it wasn’t hot just warm the chips were over cooked. The staff have changed since the last time we were here half the kids had trousers hanging off them not what I want to see when I’m eating. There seemed to be more staff hanging about the counter gossiping than serving. I’m disappointed as we used to love coming here wont be back until the next rotation of students come through and maybe we’ll try again.

   Waiter needs to cheer up a bit and smile. Need for welcome type training and an understanding of what a gluten free diet means.

   Not very good service, had a 15 min wait for drinks.. so food arrived first, told we had 40 mins left on our table- which would of been fine if we weren’t waiting for staff to come back and take our order for a second drink- in fact- they didn’t come back at all! Young lad who brought our drinks over was miserable- not even a sorry for the wait! Not good customer service.. food was good, it’s also very noisy in there.

   It was extremely busy on Sat 11 Jan when we visited. We queued to be seen in order that we could be shown to our already reserved table. Our order was taken after about 10 mins. Our food arrived after about 25-30 minutes and our hots drinks about 5-10 mins after that. All the staff were helpful and courteous. Despite the longer than usual wait (which we were made aware of by way of a message at the check in) the food and hots drinks very excellent. Well done to everyone under very busy circumstances.

    Love coming to Greendale. Breakfast or lunch is really good. Great atmosphere. Lovely service. I think the staff love working here. Do book though as its very popular!
