   I was really disappointed with my experience at Grind this time which is unusual - I am usually a happy customer. As per the booking, I requested to sit in the conservatory and marked that it was for a birthday celebration. When I arrived, the front of house staff were unfriendly and led me to a table as you enter the restaurant rather than out to the conservatory. I explained my booking request and asked for another table and it was only after this that I was told that the conservatory was closed. I would have expected this to be communicated to me prior to my arrival or as I entered the restaurant rather than it only being said after I had asked. As the table was in the lobby, the atmosphere wasn’t great and it wad definitely not an evening vibe… I waited for 25 minutes before being served for a drink which is bad enough but especially because there were such a small number of guests given that half the restaurant was closed! Our waiters were friendly in the main but there were 1/2 staff that were not which impacted on the experience. The food was disappointing, which again was surprising. The prawn sando was poor in value for money and taste. There was no acknowledgment that the booking was for a birthday and was overall a real let down. I’m hoping that this was a one-off bad experience but I am hesitant to go back.

   The cocktails were delicious and the food was great. It was a little too dark and the service was a bit slow. Would go back and would recommend though.

    I ordered the grind cheeseburger and a latte. It was amazing. The food was nice and hot and the beef was great quality. The coffee was delicious and had amazing latte art on it. The servers were kind and attentive and overall I had a great experience.
