Generally a nice meal, the star of the show is definitely the cookie dough! It was mothers day so perhaps the following was due to the busy time period. Firstly we had to wait 15 minutes for our pre-booked table to be ready, we then only received one portion of the bread/olives as part of the 2 mothers day meals we ordered. We had to go and ask someone for the additional portion. No complaints regarding the starters except you only receive one chicken skewer which makes it quite over-priced. Moving on to the mains, I was given a beef when I ordered chicken. Two people ordered the same burger with different alterations which was mixed up and they didn't notice until half way through their meal. Someone upgraded to salt & pepper chips but was given normal. The portion of the Sunday dinner was average (2 carrots and a handful of greens). They were pretty forthcoming when people wanted to order last minute pigs in blankets & cauliflower cheese but this was luke warm. The desserts overall were probably the best, chocolate brownie was lovely and the cookie dough was amazing. However, someone had a dessert with custard and was given a measly portion which was lumpy. Told they had just used the last bit of custard so couldn't have any more. The vibe did seem generally unwelcoming and staff didn't seem to go out of their way, but again this could have been down to a busy day. The outside area is nice.

Absolutely wonderful. 3 of us all chose different meals and all were outstanding. Lovely portion sizes, piping hot and oh the gravy! Full of flavour and thick but not too thick! Staff were attentive, intuitive but not overbearing. Could not fault it.

I thought my lasagne from the main menu was a little small, with virtually no pasta, just beef in a tomato sauce with béchamel on top. The garlic bread was nicely toasted and the salad was odd, just half a gem lettuce sprinkled with crispy crumbs of some sort.

Table was booked for 4:15pm on a Sunday, there was hardly anything in the menu was available. Service was slow, young waitress really wasn't bothered, we asked if they had tomato juice, she said she didn't know, then asked us if we wanted her to find out. Waited a long time for the drinks and even longer to actually place the food order.

Went with friends the other Saturday night, thought we’d try the new menu. Arrived and gave our name to be told someone had already sat at our table, we said we had friends joining. A few mins later staff realised our friends were sat at the table. Choose meals off the set menu, ordered them to then be told this menu is Mon-Fri! Perhaps the menus should be removed at a weekend or at least state days/times. Asked 2 times for an ordered glass of wine to come to the table. Waited an hour for our starters 3 of which were wrong. Pub was not busy at all. Starters were totally overpriced, crispy king prawns were tiny only got 4 no side salad but enough mayo for all of us. Main meals were ok definitely not a wow meal and at £144 for 4 people with a couple of drinks totally overpriced, a glass of red wine £9.95 I expect those prices in a top restaurant in a City centre. Very disappointing, staff looked uninterested and bored, stood around twiddling their hair. Asked one of the kitchen staff at the end of the evening for our bill as they were slumped in a chair in the restaurant, the huff and roll of the eyes was totally unprofessional. We will not be visiting again, mediocre food with an expensive price tag. A real shame as the previous menu which was simpler was nicer and reasonably priced.
