Grill 23 has been here for decades, and they deserve to be. The wait staff is the best, food delicious and it is very comfortable. A neighborhood gem. One can tell that everybody is having a good time.

Grill 23 was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. Starting off with the host, who wished us a happy anniversary to our server, Misty, who was down to earth, funny, nice, and phenomenal at her job. The food was exceptional, from the carpaccio to the lobster mac & cheese, to the filet and the NY strip, to the chocolate cake. This was our first time visiting but definitely will not be our last.

I regularly eat here and it’s great but tonight was a rather difficult and disappointing experience. The two of us were sat at a two top with a light dividing us. I had asked for a different table as I felt like I was dining with strangers at our table. I was told there was none, The people next to us were incredibly loud and it was hard to hear. The food was excellent, however, the server was never any to be found. We finished our bottle of wine and told her we were going to decide what to drink next. 25 minutes later we found another nearby waiter who went to go looking for our waitress. When she came back she never apologized, she just said “you didn’t want anything” we told her we did and we’re deciding but now after waiting 25 minutes we were all set. She never asked us if we wanted coffee or dessert and just assumed we wanted the check. Confused by the whole night we decided to leave and have a drink at the bar instead.

I wasn’t feeling well so this may cloud my review but it was difficult with the 45 minute wait for our table when we had reserved well in advance. I had tried to delay the reservation from 6:45 PM to 7:00 PM, but there was nothing available, but then we waited 45 minutes anyway. Good food and they gave us a nice table though.

We enjoyed the dinner very much! It was a last moment reservation for my husband’s birthday and we were very much pleased with the choice. Very atmospheric and buzzy place, excellent food and attentive and warm service!

Sat at the bar downstairs, and Zach was exceptional! Had great food recommendations and was very attentive and a great conversationalist! Awesome experience and will definitely come back.

I have been going to Grille 23 for almost 30 years and it’s my favorite restaurant in all of Boston, so this review will not be a surprise. Went to celebrate my birthday the other night. Our server, Chris, was fantastic and so attentive. The ribeye we shared was maybe the most tender, tasty piece of meat I’ve ever had (even there!), perfectly cooked. And the loaded baked potato was amazing.
