Gusto (pronounced Goo-sto) means tasty in Italian. Located in Toronto’s Corktown neighbourhood, Gusto 501 brings together the innovation of sister restaurant Gusto 101 and the soulful hospitality of Janet Zuccarini’s first restaurant, Trattoria Nervosa. Since opening our doors in 2020, Gusto 501 has been serving fresh takes on Italian fare in Toronto’s east end. Designed by award-winning architecture firm PARTISANS, Gusto 501’s space is punctuated by glowing terracotta walls and an oversized “garage door” façade that opens up to reveal a multi-level dining theatre.

Every level of Gusto 501 unfolds into a unique experience. Whatever you're craving, there's always a seat at the table for you - our famiglia.

Great experience. Service and ambience is amazing. Food was a little too rich for my pallet but I enjoyed it. Will be back for sure!

Wanted to try the east end location of the Gusto restaurants. Loved the design of the restaurant inside and out. Very unique and eye catching. Service was excellent. We both had cocktails that were delicious. Although we initially came for the Gustolicious promo, we ended up ordering a la carte. My friend ordered foccacio which he said was tasty and we liked how it was served with a side of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. His lasagna while huge in portion, needed some extra flavour (i.g., garlic, seasoning) as it was a bit bland. I had the mushroom tagliatelle which was delicious. We had no room for dessert. Hopefully the next time, I can check out the patio. On a side note, if you have guests that require extra assistance, there is no elevator. You'll be stuck on the ground floor. All in all, I prefer Gusto 501 over Gusto 101.

Unfortunately most of the food was cold when it reached the table which isn’t ideal for pasta and pizza. I had also requested a quiet area of the restaurant for guests with hearing impairment and were sat in a noisy area right underneath speakers. It seems there were more quiet areas on the other floors.

When making reservations on opentable I made a request for a booth / private seating in a low traffic area. I got the complete opposite. I asked the server if they could accommodate my request I made during the reservation, but they did not. We went for the 4 course meal and each dish was ok. Nothing spectacular. Over priced drinks that tasted like fructose corn syrup with alcohol. Washroom was nasty.
