Welcome to Hawksmoor Chicago, where we bring our acclaimed steakhouse experience from the UK to the iconic LaSalle Powerhouse in River North. Our ethos is simple: ‘Buy the best and let it shine.’ We serve all-natural, pasture-reared, dry-aged beef from US family-run farms, cooked over charcoal and seasoned simply with sea salt. Our seafood, sourced from trusted Northeastern fishermen, is prepared with equal care.

In our 16,500 sq ft space, featuring barrel-vaulted ceilings and touches from the Golden Age of Travel, Hawksmoor is perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re stopping by for cocktails, a casual lunch or a special celebration, we make sure you leave full and happy. We also offer private dining for groups of 10 to full venue buy-outs for 500—ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and corporate events.

And don’t miss our Sunday Roast: dry-aged beef, beef-dripping potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and bone marrow gravy—something like a Thanksgiving dinner every Sunday.

  • Sunday roast

    Multiple dates available
Sundays at Hawksmoor are all about our Sunday Roast: all-natural, dry-aged, slow-roasted Rump served with crispy beef dripping potatoes, Caraflax cabbage and carrots, gigantic Yorkshire puddings, lashings of bone marrow & onion gravy and the option for a side of cauliflower cheese or slow-roasted bone marrow and onions. Sunday Roast dates back to the 15th century where large joints of meat were roasted on a spit over an open fire; to achieve a similar flavor, we start ours on our charcoal grill and finish them in the oven. Many who've had a Sunday Roast equate it to a Thanksgiving dinner – a comforting, filling meal that is best in the company of loved ones. And, should a Bloody Mary, or two, be consumed alongside it, who are we to judge?

We’ve dined @ Hawksmoor NYC and now Chicago, and both were truly memorable experiences. In a city with so many steakhouse options, Hawksmoor Chicago is unique, understated, comfortable and ridiculously good. The potted beef & steak tartare appetizers are exceptional. Even the simple Boston lettuce salad was great. And the aged ribeyes… wow. Not sure how we found room for dessert, but I’m so glad we did. The sticky toffee pudding and Irish coffee have me convinced Hawksmoor is as good at desserts as it is at its main courses. And perhaps the best part is that our server, Berto, was truly outstanding. Our thanks to the full Hawksmoor team for doing what you do so very well.

Hawksmoor is a wonderful addition to Chicago's dining scene! We first discovered Hawksmoor several years ago in London and quickly made it a tradition to have Christmas Eve dinner at their Seven Dials location before returning to the States from our annual holiday trip. This year, our travels brought us to London earlier than usual, so we were unable to continue our tradition there. However, since Hawksmoor Chicago opened, we’ve had the pleasure of dining here several times, and we were thrilled to continue our Hawksmoor tradition—not in London, but in Chicago—tonight! Everything about Hawksmoor Chicago is wonderful—the food, ambiance, and service are all exceptional. The portion sizes are just right, and the quality of the steak and all ingredients shines through in every dish. In a city brimming with steakhouses, Hawksmoor stands out for being unpretentious, fun, and consistently delivering a perfect night out. We’re so excited to have this piece of London here in Chicago, and we’ll definitely be back soon!

Just having returned from London, we were excited to eat at Hawksmoor. Drinks and starters were good. Steaks and sides were a different story. My Caesar salad had no dressing. They instantly offered to remake it. I said no thank you, I just needed some dressing. What they brought was Dijon mustard, but told us what we were tasting was anchovies. Lived in Seattle for 27 years. What was on top of the salad were anchovies, which tasted NOTHING like the Dijon mustard we were given as salad dressing. My husbands steak was wonderful, perfectly cooked with no grissel. Mine was nothing but grissel. I couldn’t even cut thru it, my husband couldn’t either. The waitress never even told us they had comped my meal when she dropped off the check and she never returned. Surprised such ‘bugs’ still exist after being opened 6 months. The waitress said she didn’t recommend the lobster, which we appreciated, but what about the steak? The only thing resembling an English Public house was the brand of ginger ale they served. Besides that, not one thing. Sadly, we won’t be returning and do not recommend Hawksmoor.

The service was top notch! We had the manager taking care of us for most of the dinner, above and beyond service!! Excellent recommendations. The Thai oysters were my favorite! The chicken was very moist and had excellent flavor. The mushrooms were fantastic as well and the peanut butter dessert! They said it takes them 24 hours to make and it was worth it!!

We love going to all the steakhouses in Chicago and I made reservations here for 12/22/24 to celebrate my wife’s birthday as we have never been to Hawksmoor. The ambiance of the place is great however, the food is not. We ordered bone marrow oysters which were good. We ordered the fried shrimp and it tasted very fresh so things got off to a good start. However the main course is where things went very downhill. I ordered a ribeye and my wife ordered a strip and both were mostly fat. A ribeye can have a nice marble to it but we were very disappointed with how much fat the strip had. I poked around my ribeye and ate what I could. My wife barely ate her strip. The mashed potatoes were so bland and runny I’ve never had mashed potatoes taste like this. The lobster mac and cheese … we don’t ever send food back but it was so salty that we had to let the waitress know. They took it to the back and someone came back to apologize to us because they tried it themselves and admitted it was way too salty. They offered to make us a new one that we eventually got packed to go because by the time they bought it out, we were done with our food. (They did not charge us for the lobster Mac and cheese) The mushroom Diane was good. The pudding was burnt for us unfortunately one bite and we could tell right away. Good : bone marrow oyster, fried shrimp, mushroom Diane, drinks Bad : ribeye , strip Unacceptable: mashed potatoes, lobster Mac and cheese The service was slow maybe because more waiters were needed but we left a good tip because the waiters were so polite and kind. I see on other reviews that they write out happy bday but I mentioned the occasion to both the check in folks and our waitress but unfortunately they did not write happy bday on the dessert but this is not a make or break … I am more concerned on quality of taste of food which was not up to par with the steakhouses around Chicago that we frequently visit.

We've been to Sunday Roasts in London and Ireland so we didn't know what to expect in Chicago. It EXCEEDED our expectations. We all had the Sunday Roast, so we can't speak about any other meal. The food was all delicious. It was enough to fill us, but not enough to make us uncomfortable. Everything was cooked to perfection and required no extra seasoning. We shared several desserts and loved every single one of them (sorbet, apple jack sundae, sticky toffe pudding - OMG - and the peanut butter louis). Would highly highly highly recommend Hawksmoor Chicago.

Perfect authentically 🇬🇧 Sunday Roast Beef. The quality of the meat is superb, the size of the Yorkshire Puddings huge, etc. The Cauliflower Cheese side has that English-style tang rather then American-style creamy bland Do not miss the Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert
