   Marvellous day in Hawksmoor yesterday. Food , as always, was first class and the staff so nice. A nice touch from the restaurant was, when they knew that it was a birthday being celebrated, they went the extra mile to make it all the more special.

   We had the sunday roast with stuffing on the side. The meat was cooked to perfection, melt in your mouth. The roast potatoes brought me back to my mothers cooking more than 40 years ago. Best Sunday roast in years

   We booked a celebration lunch for my sister, The atmosphere was lovely and the noise levels were low. 2 out of 3 of the dinners were cold on arrival, and had to be sent back. There was a mistake with the desert order and we did end up keeping the mistaken order. There was also a chip on the glass that arrived for a drink. Just overall not the experience I’ve had when I’ve dined here before, a level of care and attention to detail was missing and wasn’t really acknowledged. I’ve dined here three times before and this is where I gift people vouchers to say thank you, so I’ve always enjoyed it, but it just fell short this time.

   Service superb. Table setting and decor and bar just fabulous. That's where it all ended. As the restaurant boasts proudly it's beef naturally my husband and his friend went with their selection from the extensive menu. They work in the beef business and were hugely disappointed as the meat was cow beef. Absolutely dreadful. When we paid the bill it came to a staggering €800 !!! Four adults both eating 4 starters, 4 main courses and no desserts. Yes, alcohol drank too but not enough to warrant the bill. Whe we examined the bill, it turns out we had been charged twice. The staff accepted their error and have refunded the overcharge on our card which will be refunded next week. I'm not complaining to be petty, but it was such a let down to eat in a beef restaurant and have such poor quality meat served up, together with such a glaring error on our bill. Regret that we will not be returning for food again. A beautiful setting but all style and no substance.

   Absolutely an amazing time. Food was delicious, service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. If there were more stars I would give them. Highly recommended.

   I've been to Hawksmoor a number of times and the food is always excellent. I was really disappointed with the service and time it took for food to be delivered to table. It was over 75 mins from the time we sat down to the food arriving, over 55 mins from when we ordered. We ordered off the Express Menu which was lovely.
