Hearth and Tap Co. is a stylish seasonally driven gastropub in Montvale NJ. Owned by Fintan Seeley for the past eighteen years, the restaurant has two main dining rooms, an outdoor patio, a non smoking bar and lounge, a rustic bar & cottage, and an elegant cigar lounge. The restaurant is furnished with genuine antiques from Ireland, and feels both intimate and family friendly while still being adaptable to large parties. The bar has twenty-four craft beers on tap, with a large selection of wines served by the glass, and there is an extensive collection of wines from around the world offered by the bottle, guaranteed to satisfy even the most selective palates. The rooms and the patio have working fireplaces; perfect for those chilly autumn or winter nights when you want dinner somewhere cozy and inviting. The main dining room is romantically lit, with Edison bulbs and cream lighting offsetting the reclaimed wood textures, while the upstairs is beech toned and comfortably homey.

We went there for the first time for my husband's birthday. Everything was wonderful-- the food was excellent, professional and attentive service, friendly door staff, best pint of Founder's I have had in a long time... we will definitely go again.

Authentic Irish eatery (as in Ireland Irish, not a schlock pub grub place). Food is excellent. Great Filet Mignon Stroganoff, best Angus burgers, too large Chicken Pot Pie. Large selection of draft beers, etc. We are there once each month.

My wife and I just dined at the Hearth and Tap for what we hope will be the first of many future visits. For starters, we enjoyed a light and well prepped Burrata salad. . My wife enjoyed a wonderfully prepared pan roasted duck breast for her entree. I must admit, after my standard tasting test I wished I had ordered my wife's dish. For my entree i enjoyed what turned out to be the most outstanding entree of the night. A perfectly char-grilled New York boneless strip steak. The price? $25..00. ( While Hearth and Tap also offers a prime -aged strip for $52.00, the strip I had was as good and indeed better than many a prime steak for half the price). We are looking forward to the addition of The Hearth and Tap to a favorite restaurant list.

Went for a Valentine’s Day dinner reservation and was sat at a busy bar table. Very loud and high traffic table. Food was great will go back again for some good comfort food and drinks with friends but not a date niggt.

The food was spot on. It was flavorful, although it did not come out together. The service was just not that attentive. Probably the first time in two years that I did not leave a 20% tip or more to a server

Food is always good and well prepped. Service is good. Only minor complaint was martinis seemed slightly watered down and lacking proper amount of alcohol.

Service is solid, food quality is good. I’ve had better meals here - even the same chicken entree. This time everything was good not great, but is was a super busy Friday night. The burrata app was DELISH. The soups was kinda blah, my chicken was delish but was not a crispy or as nicely presented as in previous visits.
