   Although our waiter was kind and knowledgeable the food lacked flavor, with the exception of the empanadas. They were great! I ordered paella that lacked flavor and the seafood was overcooked. My grandson wanted a Cuban sandwich without mustard and pickles. We were told sandwiches could not be made to order because they are premade and just heated up. We knew they were working with a limited menu, but what was offered could have tasted better. I wouldn’t return for the food, but this is a great place for a drink, empanadas, and an absolutely spectacular mountain view.

   You really cannot beat this place for casual, fun, and great views!! Menu is pretty limited but what's there is really good and the prices for the atmosphere and location are fantastic.

   We were very excited about our dinner reservation before our trip to Asheville - we're always in search of good Cuban food. The restaurant was a little hard to find - no idea it is located in a hotel. We waited for 6-7 minutes at the host stand to be seated (not even acknowledged before seating). The menu is VERY limited - many of the offerings on the website are not available - no maduros, no yucca, etc. When I asked about the difference in menu, the waiter said that they still weren't getting deliveries since "the hurricane". Not sure about that one...... Food was just ok, service was very slow, the only ambience is the view - large windows allow good view of the mountains. There was a buffet setup on one side of the room - appears it is the breakfast room for the hotel. Not sure if we'd go back. Not great, not awful - just so-so.

   Hemingway’s was amazing. Great Cuban sandwich, mojito was to die for and the views is amidst see to believe.

   It just wasn’t anything special for the price of the food, nothing fancy or different about it. Just okay food that is over priced

   Service was good, everyone was so nice. Food was so, so and my goodness, it was TOO LOUD! If you want to hear your conversation, this is not the place to go.

   We had to wait a long time for food and drinks. The plantains were burnt and the black beans were not good.

   We have been to Hemmingway’s Cuba a few times and thought, why don’t we check it out again. Upon arriving as soon as we exited the elevator, you immediately could hear loud reggaeton music blasting. They had part of the restaurant blocked off and just a few tables open for dining. I felt like I was at a hotel bar either in Miami or actually in Cuba. The music was obnoxiously loud and there was no way we could enjoy our dining experience and have a conversation with each other. We did not stay to dine, so I can’t speak to the food or service, but if you want people to spend money on food and enjoy their dining experience, wait until 9 or 10p for to play the obnoxious music (we got there at 7pm). We won’t be coming back anytime soon.

   This was New Year's Eve 2024. I wanted my family to have a great dinner experience. Unfortunately, it did not happen. I am from out of town and wanted so much to have a good dinner experience. We arrived at 7pm as I had requested. There was no one at the front to greet us. We waited a few minutes and finally she came. We were a party of five. They put us in an empty table with no napkins or utencils. We waited about 15 minutes for the waitress to come. I went back to the front and told her. Her response was that they only had 2 servers that night and that they were washing the napkins and drying them. My goodness, what a thing to say to a customer. Finally, the waitress appeared and gave us all a menu and glasses of water. The menu was very limited for dinner, and the Ropa Vieja had finished. The dishes we wanted were no longer available. We had to settle for hamburgers and sandwiches. Well, finally we had to pay the bill. I gave her cash. It took about 20 minutes and never came back to me .. We got tired of waiting. The waitress was attending other tables and I guess forgot about us. A manager came to us since we all were standing with our coats on. She finally took care of our bill. I feel that, first of all, management needs to staff their restaurant accordingly. I have eaten at this location several times, and all has been great. T think they have changed chefs and the menu. It's not like before. It's a shame because the food was so good. I am from Florida and love to visit Asheville. I hope Hemingway's Cuba steps up to what it used to be.

    Oh my goodness!! If you have never been to Hemingways, it's an Asheville must!! While the inside is not the most wow as far as interiors go, the views and the rooftop area make up for it. The food and the drinks are incredible... can't go wrong with anything you order and the service is friendly and efficient. Will be going back again!
