   we sat down to a meal for a special occasion and opted for the short menu. We had a delicious starter of tempura courgettes then a course with wonderful white asparagus salad perfectly executed then duck breast and broccolini main course sadly my husband was taken ill  he had heat stroke and fainted. The restaurant were really amazing and understanding. We will definitely go back soon hopefully with a view to being able to enjoy the whole meal.

   We had the short taster menu, a well thought out and balanced grouping of foods. The wine was delightful that went with it. The ambience was good. The person at the front of house was very friendly and attentive. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.

   Our third time eating here and the overall experience was excellent. Gorgeous food (we had the vegetarian tasting menu) and as always the thing that elevates the experience is how engaged and knowledgeable the staff are in explaining what they are serving and where it came from. They’re happy to give as much or as little information as you require and make the whole experience enjoyable and down to earth. The balance between the elevated food quality and the approachable service makes this a fantastic experience for anyone who loves good food but doesn’t want a stuffy atmosphere. We had an early sitting so the restaurant was empty as we arrived, but was full by the time we left and even then wasn’t loud- carrying on a conversation wasn’t challenging at all. Their set menu is fantastic value for the quality and amount of food you are served. The portions are substantial enough that you feel like you’ve had a good amount of each dish but no so large that you have to worry about saving room for the latter courses. We’ve been here for special occasions three times in the last year and each time we resolve that we should make it more of a regular treat.

   An excellent meal altogether: very tasty and including different ways of preparing familiar ingredients. The Hispy cabbage dish was a particular success - as was the fritto misto. Only shame is we could not quite manage a pudding even though they too looked very promising! We’ll just have to come back!

    Simple but exquisite food with it's own unique style and unusual choices on the small menu. Lovely informal atmosphere in a small space and very congenial service. Nice space between courses.
